Not much.
+'s:
I think in a few years Kwame will be a 18-10 type guy which won't be that bad, even though was the was first pick overall.
Hughes was a great pickup. I never thought the guy would be able to average 20 a game.
-'s:
Laetner. Damn, what a horrible idea signing that guys was. Totally stupid.
Haywood. He's a waste.
Jefferies. He's a waste.
Dixon. I don't think he's that bad. A decent guy off the bench but still not great for a first rounder.
Stackhouse. :puke:

despite being a dissapointment as a #1 overall, the draft that year was insanely weak. I think Randolph and arenas maybe came out then, but randolph was 22 and arenas I think was 32.
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but he could end up being the best overall player to come out of that draft. I would say he is more far along than curry and chandler, though I like chandlers potential.
didnt hughes get 22 0r 23 a game after he was traded from philly to GS?
you're right, jordan didnt do sh1t except alienate his players

You're right, he averaged 22.7 a game with GS back in 1999. I didn't realize he did that.

They just change to much each year. They are always starting over. Just let it ride for once. We have been trying the other way for 20 years and it has gotten us nothing. At least the new GM seem to be a little more settled, at least for now. Just add one or 2 players.
The best thing for this team is to let it be. Let the cream rise, the dead wood will fall off, then you replace a piece. They are young so you have time to do this. If you suck long enough and don't trade your players away, eventually you get a nice draft pick during a talented draft. One player would make a huge difference with this much young talent. It just has to be the kind of guy that has talent, smart BBall sence and one who can lead or help this team gel. You already have some young talent that could grow into that person. Just let them gel. They had so many injuries this year, who know what we really have ?

Well, he was able to trade Juwan when many folks were saying it was impossible.

i would also add etan thomas (acquire in the juwan trade) to your list of positives.
all in all, i think mj did pretty well as gm. the stackhouse trade was horrible, but aside from that he did get rid of some terrible contracts and the team is now full of younger players with potential.
i would certainly argue that they are in better shape now than before he came in...

They are in better shape now because he is gone. If he was here, this team would be horrible to watch, and most of the youngsters wouldn't be getting the experience they needed or have a coach they looked up to. NONE of them liked, or respected Doug Collins.

They sold out alot of Games whild he was here and made alot of money as far as the personell decisions they can always be second guessed... I think he wanted to build a team around himself and he just couldn't carry the load... What most of you guys fail to realize is because you are the better players on a horrible team that does not make you very good. The Wizzards could go out and sign 12 players from the CBA and still have the same record.

Stackhouse trade was a Disaster.
Kwame choice wasnt bad considering all the high picks (other than Battier) were HS kids.
Hughes was a solid pick up.
Haywood will never be more than a back-up, average "role-player".
Jeffries doesnt really have a position... I think he was a waste of a pick (although I like him).
Dixon was a good choice (very solid backup/starter).
Laettner was a joke of an acquistion as mentioned earlier.
Etan Thomas has actually developed this year.
Can we please have the "Bullets" name back?

Unlike a whole bunch of guys who simply can't cut it on a CBA team, these players have NBA talent. They would be much farther along and better equipped to run EJ's offense if they had played the necessary minutes per game they should've got last season.
MJ wasn't suppose to be build a team around himself, he was suppose to build a team to stand on it's own. Instead, he made moves that were questionable in some cases and solid in others. Yet ultimately it was all structured to support Jordan's return. He never upheld his word, he said he wanted to the young players to develop and learn how to win. THey started off well, then went on a losing skid, then he inserts himself in the starting lineup and benches nearly everybody that didn't have 5 years of experience. Kwame couldn't get on the floor for even 10 minutes. 10 minutes!!
Kwame said in every game, Collins would tell him before he went out there not to mess up or he was sitting back down. And as soon as Kwame made one mistake, he was back on the bench for the rest of the game. You have to at least let him make up for his mistakes, benching him for the rest of the game off of one mistake isn't helping.
They are better off without him, and Grunfield has already got this team going in a better direction than MJ ever did.

The Bullets have been "going in a better direction" for about 20 years now.

I totally disagree. Not only does that statement not disprove that the team is better off without Jordan, but no one has really thought they could really be good before now since '98 with Webber and Strickland here.
