Did anyone else see Chris Rock on HBO last night... Hilarious to say the least. He hit on Michael Jackson, rap stars, OJ, Bush, the war, Drugs, guns and of course, women.

Same style as always, if you like that syle of stand up comedy (foul language alert if you have young uns...)

I watched some of it last night. I had to turn it off. The profanity was just to much. It was almost pathetic. I've never heard anyone say mofo & f'ck that many times in my life. I think when Comedians use excessive amounts of profanity they are trying to make up for weak material. I think he was trying to be Richard Prior last night. He didn't cut it...

I agree with you Johnny!

I like Rock but man he goes to far with the profanity. I like comedians who can bowl you over with just their mannerisms alone. Sinbad was one who was funny and clean as heck.

I watched a bit of it, but I saw him live in ATL about three months ago.....

sounded like the same material so I switched channels. Dude, I love Chris Rock but this material wan't as good as the famous show in DC that starts off with him talking about the Million man march..

I don't recall there being that much profanity in that show. Maybe he's cahnged it up a bit in the last few months but I will still watch it sometime and know I will laugh my a*s off.........

Y'all are crazy if you didn't think that was funny. That's Chris Rock's style and he's funny as hell doing it. He's not going out there trying to be Bill Cosby or something. You should know that to begin with. But if you can't appreciate that as good standup comedy, then you don't know humor.

I know humor ok. I was listening to records of Richard Pryor when you were still swimming around in your dad's nutz. What I saw last night wasn't very good. There is a way to use profanity in a comedy act to emphasize something. Richard Pryor did this to perfection. What I saw last night was a pathetic attempt at it. I like Chris Rock but that show was pretty bad. He tried to be like Richard Pryor and he sucked at it. It's not funny when all you do is walk about and say mofo and F'ck 50 times a min.

That was classic Chris Rock. If you didnt like that, you probably don't like Chris Rock. Or maybe your used to him when he's appearing on Oprah or something

Rock's big two comedy specials were much better then last nights. Not terrible, but a lot of his material was retreads and standard male-female relationship crap. Perhaps he's a victim of his own success with people expecting too much. Everytime I even think of his old "there will never be a black vice president" spiel I laugh my ass off.

Thank you... I like Chris Rock but that show was bad...

I watched about the last hour of it. I do not appreciate the profanity, but the first 1/2 of what I saw was hilarious inspite of it.

When he went into the part where "marriage aint for you", the F word was coming out just too fast and too furious. I was glad when it was over.

Last nights was good. -- But I think his older stuff was better. -- But the Michael Jackson bit was funny as hell.

I agree that CR has been much funnier in the past. Even the audience seemed a little shocked by the extent of the profanity. I don't mean the close-ups of a couple of people laughing, but the wide shots. I am the last person to be offended by profanity but the vast amount of it began to wear on me. As was posted earlier it was cussin' for the sake of cussin'. There was some very funny material - not solving dead rapper cases, Micheal and Janet Jackson, rich vs wealthy, etc.

I personally think he was just using the 'style' of today, with regards to his 'core' audience. While some of the profanity was too much, I think the actual material was very good...although not quite up to par to his act 2 HBO specials ago...

I can agree that this was not the funniest I've ever seen him, but come on, it was still funnier than a ton of stuff out there....

I loved his line about Michael Jackson and then OJ... He said it would be like finding a dead white woman in OJ's house and OJ saying "I know how this looks, but come on guys....".

I saw a little bit of it. Some of what I saw was funny, but I've seen funnier comedians.

I saw what was on tv last night (and replayed on one of the HBO's tonight) Live at Constitution Hall last night. I have seen a lot of live standup in my short life and that ranked up there with some of the best. There is only one Pryor standup (Sunset Strip), both Murphy's, maybe Bill Cosbys Himself, and the first Rock above this one. (I do appreciate some Carlin, Williams, Martin, Sykes, Diceman, and otheres in small doses) I did think this was better than Bigger and Blacker just not close to Bring The Pain. After I left Constitution Hall my cheeks were sore from laughing. The profanity didn't bother me at all....though I do believe you can get you point across without it. My biggest gripe was he let the politics (middle part of the show) get to serious.

The political rantings were a bit much for me, the white people bashing was a little much for my tase also.
I still love CR and watched the whole show. Funny Stuff.

Last night was ok. Definitely not his best work. If you think it was, you really need to go look at some of his older shows. Or perhaps you just have low standards.

Not as good as his past performances, but I still laughed hysterically.

He does bash white people in all his shows, but he also bashes black people, hispanic people and asians... he pretty much just bashes everyone, that's what's funny.

So for those of us said we don't like the language then you didn't laugh when Murphy, Cosby, etc... all did the same thing now did you

I dont really mind the profanity at all. I find Chris Rock to be drop down halarious. HOWEVER, I can really respect a comedian that can do clean stand up, that I still crack up watching. Sinbad imetiatley comes to mind for me.

Love Chris Rock. That was not his best material.

No one mentioned this though. He looked like he just might have done a toot or two before the show. ;)

I turned it off because it just wasn’t that funny. He’s ruined enough movies to where I don’t particularly care to continue watching him act stupid – it gets old after a while.

Bigger and Blacker was a bit more funny IMO, but Never Scared was still hilarious on its own.

I personally prefer dave chappelle over CR, but CR usually has a decent message in his stand ups....

When did Cosby use profanity?

I saw between 5 to 10 minutes of it... I did not find it funny to say the least.

I have not seen any of his previous stuff so I can't comment on it. I remember some of Prior's stuff and it made me laugh, as well as Sam Kennison as well, so the profanity wasn't too much of an issue. There was too much of it for my tastes, but if he had been funny it would have been a non-issue.

The part I saw was terrible and not funny at all. Call me crazy if you want.

Peace

Eddie Murphy Delirious, now that was some funny chit!

Cosby never used profanity. And if I recall correctly, I think Eddie Murphy got on Cosby in RAW about that. He imitated Cosby trying to talk to him about cursing in his shows, he sounded just like him. It was hilarious.

What is this, the Hiddenburg going down? "Ohhh the profanity." Give me a break
