They're smacking the Devil Rays around in a big way right now. 9-1 in the 8th inning, and Ponson is still in the game. We knew the lineup would have some pop, but who knew the pitching would be so strong?

Great win, they are looking really good right now. The pitching has been impressive

Another win for the birds, 8-1 in a tidy 2 hours 20 minutes.

I hate Angelos and what he's done to Baseball in DC....but I have to admit these guys are fun to watch.

Tejada, Lopez, and Palmeiro are the three best free agent acquisitions in baseball right now. Beattie and Flanagan deserve a huge pat on the back so far.
I'm very optimisitic about this team right now, but I want to see how the team responds when all of the young pitchers hit "the wall" towards the end of the season. None of them have ever pitched a full major league season's worth of innings, and as Dontrell Willis demonstrated last year, its not easy to deal with.

I think this team, unlike the team in B-more over the past couple years, will be able to minimize the bad streaks and maximize the good streaks.
I still don't see them beating out the Yanks or Sox but I think they can be in it till the end of the year....

It's good to have hope though! This is the most hope I've had for the O's since that little bastard Jeffrey Maier snatched that ball and our playoff hopes out of the sky. Hope I never run into that punk! :slap:

Skinderella, I totally agree. I was just tempering enthusiasm. I'm thrilled they've started as hot as they have. And I fully expect them to keep up the winning ways for a while (last night excluded of course).

Jeffrey Maier: the Case in point example of why the yankees are an a-hole organization. He interfeared..and they made him a hero for it.
