Iowa Boy Coming to D.C, What to do when I am there?

I'll be heading to D.C for a couple days in June (10-13) for work and am looking for advice on a few things...

I used to live in Fairfax 15-16 years ago and I am looking to go back to see the old stomping grounds.

Other than that, where do you recommend I stay? I was hoping for a marriott...thought crystal city might be good.

Where should I go to load up on my skins gear? Any great Skins hangouts or places to hit??

For Redskins gear Tyson's Corner has a Redskins Store which also doubles as a radio studio for the local sports radio shows. It's probable not the cheapest place to get a jersey but if you're looking for a specific number they've got it.

As for must see items I recomend the new Air and Space Smithsonian out in Chantilly. The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.

Never seen the space shuttle, the concord, or the SR-71 up close. They've got them there and more. It is pretty impressive.

we have a presentation to the Iowa Congressional Delegation on Friday morning and i have a few appointments with alumni of our University on Thursday and Friday night, but beyond that, I am free....

Crystal City would be your best bet to stay. Its close to everything.

There is a Courtyard by Marriott in Crystal City that I just stayed in last Fall for the Marine Corps marathon. Its in an easy location and was up to the usual nice conditions of the many Courtyard's that I have stayed in before.
