My secretary suprised me today. Over the weekend, she found a Wheaties box with the 92 Redskins on the front in MINT condition. A very cool gift indeed.

Priceless! I would enjoy acquiring a six-pack of the Pepsi/Coke cans from when they won the SB.
Does your wife know about this? ;)

I have both of those items. I have a Coke can with the SB stuff on it and the Wheaties box with the SB team on it.
However, I think mine might be from 1987. AND it's just the Wheaties box...my parents made me eat the cereal...hahaha.

I wish I would have had more foresight to keep these things in mint condition.
Oh well, I can just add them to my shoe boxes of baseball cards that are worthless now too...

LOL.. I know what you mean.
I had tons of first edition Star Wars toys. I kept them in mint condition. My brother trashed them. I could be so rich now.

Having the cereal inside may be a good thing.... but the insect eggs in the cereal can hatch eventually (hot conditions cause it to happen faster) and then you could end up with little pin-tip sized holes in the bag/box where they chew through. And moths or beetles crawling around.
And if you don't believe me, generally anything harvested from out in the fields will have insect eggs in the products. From grains, grain products (such as flours, corn meals and cake mixes), pastas, chocolate (cocoa beans), dried fruits, etc. Absolutely no way to prevent it other than rotation of products. And you have an old product. :)
So if you see some gray indian meal moths or small black weevils, don't be surprised.
Other than that, congrats.

I remember an old country store down on Rt. 1 in spotsylvania (looked like it hadn't been painted in 50 years, and the owner hadn't combed his hair/beard in at least that long) that had ancient containers of old cereals , wheat cannisters, etc. At least 20/30/40 year old containers he was collecting and figuring was worth some money. And they had little pin holes where insects had drilled through the cardboard from the inside to get out.....

That's pretty sweet. When my parents came down here to Florida, they went to the beach and in an antiques store found a Redskins hat, with all three Superbowl logos on it, with tags still on. And also found the '92 Superbowl shirt with the tags still on it.
