San Fran to God: Bring it on!
San Francisco -- With the recent ruling overturning partial birth abortions, California, and particularly the San Francisco are has sunk to a new low according to several pastors in the area. "This is the new 'Sin City'." says Pastor Jim Wong of the First National AME Church of San Francisco at recent city wide prayer breakfast. "I couldn't agree more." said Bishop Joan Smith of the 2nd Street Morman Church. "This is getting out of hand, we can't just sit here and do nothing as our city goes to hell."
"What can we do besides pray? The sin is so rampant."
"I don't know. Something. Anything! I know God is absolutely furious over this city."
However, they are in a fast shrinking minority in the San Francisco area. Most here welcome these new freedoms. "I personally think it's great. The whole world needs to model itself after San Fran. This is what true freedom really is." says Cam Cameron founder of the Public Utilitarian Society of San Francisco's Youth. "Seems our message is getting accross," he beams, "this is what we here at PUSSFY have been advocating all along. We are teaching these kids young, so when they are older they will better spread the word. Why restrict one's happiness?" So you don't fear any of God's judgements may come to this city? He laughed. "Oh no. Just recently I had to uh, urinate. There was no restroom around, just a church up the road. It was locked, so I went around back and took care of business...on the church! No lighnting struck me down or anything like that. That's a bunch of nonsense."
The San Fransico anarchists had similar views. "Judgements? I wish. The only thing we get here are earthquakes, and we haven't even had any recently. And earthquakes? What is that? Come on you can do better! Bring it on! Bring on the good stuff!" one of them shouts raising his middle finger to the sky. "Seriously though, nothing bad is going to happen. So what if people are gay and want to express themselves. There's nothing wrong with that." When told how the city is often compared to the biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by religious leaders, "Well, they can believe what they want. But we're going to continue doing what we do." He left shortly after to attend a private Klan meeting.
So what does the average San Fransician think? "I know this is going to sound so sterotypical, but I think it's fabulous!" exclaimed Bill standing hand in hand with his partner Jim. They were in a kids clothing department store picking out clothes for their son-soon to be daughter. "Anywhere else we would have been stared at, but not here...it's so free."
Freedom, yes. Some fear however, this freedom will cost, and cost dearly.
