He informed the Magic that he will not resign and now they are shopping him. Now for the bad news: the Magic are saying that they have received offers of 3 quality players + a lottery pick. Are they spreading these rumors? They supposedly asked the Pacers for Harrington, Artest, Bender and Tinsley. That's nuts....
What would it cost the Wiz? I don't even want to guess...

If the Wiz wanted to acquire McGrady they would probably have to include Arenas and Kwame for starters.

The only team in the league that could get McGrady without morgaging their future is a one on one team with LA for Kobe.
A controversial move maybe, but it would finally relieve the Lakers of that whole Shaq/Kobe drama...and also provide LA with another shot creator to fill the void,

fwo40,
although that a t-mac for kobe trade would eliminate most of the controversy due to shaq/t-mac friendship, kobe is a great player than t-mac. people 20 years from now will remember kobe for his championships and true greatness. t-mac is not a champion. i read this article last week about dominique wilkins and michael jordan. wilkins was a more talented player but he didnt win championships. i compare t-mac to wilkins and kobe is more to MJ.

haha we wont get any prize position in this years free agency...we wont get shaq/kobe/tmac or even eric dampier...if we didnt get arenas and trade stack/laettner..then we have a great chance...other then that...nope!

We won't come close to T-Mac, we will have to give up Arenas and Kwame. I would hate to see that
I would like to see Craphouse, Jeffries, Haywood, and Etan and our 32nd pick for McGrady

ESPN says that Orlando has asked Phoenix for Stoudamire and Marion and Houston for Francis and Mobley. And for the record, I would trade Kwame and Arenas for Mcgrady, but not give up the #5 pick, because we would be in need of another piece of the puzzle if we did the deal. We would be trading our young talent once again, but we would actually be getting top YOUNG talent in return.
Not that they would actually be interested in Wizards players.

I don't know for sure, but I do remember one of their offers involved Mike Miller when he was still there.
Also, LA is keeping Kobe over Shaq. So Shaq will be hitting the market instead of Kobe. No way is LA getting T-Mac now. They wouldn't be able to handle both T-Mac's deal, and Kobe's future monster contract.

Well, now that the Lakers have pretty much come out and said they plan to build the team around Kobe I wouldn't be surprised to see a Shaq for TMac trade.

Shaq for T-Mac isn't going to happen. For some reason, Orlando doesn't want him back. What seems to be most likely to happen with McGrady, is he will end up in Houston in exchange for Francis and Mobley. I think Juwan Howard was mentioned in the deal, but if Orlando gives him up too that would be stupid.

We will see if this statement holds any water once Shaq leaves LA and Kobe is all by his lonesome.

Without Shaq, Kobe will probably lead the league in scoring and the Lakers could have a comparable regular season, but once in the playoffs, the Lakers will be toast!!!!

Well, why don't we see how Kobe does without THE MOST dominant center in recent memory there to back him up, to grab his rebounds, to dish off to, and to catch his errant 3 pointers and put them back (aka: game 1 vs Houston)?
I think most people would agree that Kobe has shouldered more of the load in LA the past two seasons. and also most feel that Kobe thinks he is "the man" there. How has he fared as "the man"? Not so well. The series vs. the Pistons was an exhibition of Kobe's selfishness. If he just were a role player on that team, the series would have been competitive. Instead the Pistons demolished the Lakers. It should have been a sweep given the way the team was functioning.
Kobe thought he was the man in LA, but he is incredibly selfish. You wouldn't see Jordan destroying his team's hopes for a championship like that (let's set aside what happened with Jordan and DC, since the Wizards were never in shape to compete for a championship). Kobe singlehandedly lost some of those games in the Finals. When all the Lakers were involved, and GP and Shaq were in sync, the team was rolling. The Pistons had no answer for Shaq. Then, Kobe needed to get in on the action, and basically fazed out the entire team. Yeah, true greatness.
