It is completely unjust that Miguel Tejada is fourth in the All Star voting for American League shortstops.

Here are the results as of 9:40 pm on June 20:

Derek Jeter - 797,721 votes .255 AVG. 9 HR 32 RBI
Nomar Garciaparra - 696,497 votes .265 AVG. 0 HR 3 RBI
Michael Young - 531,575 votes .326 AVG. 10 HR 40 RBI
Miguel Tejada - 528,803 votes .298 AVG. 10 HR 51 RBI
David Eckstein - 151,889 votes .297 AVG. 0 HR 11 RBI

In that group, Tejada is second in batting average, tied for first in homeruns, and is first in runs batted in. Michael Young is the only person who deserves to be there with Tejada. And Carlos Guillen is much more deserving than Jeter, Eckstein, or Garciaparra, who has been injured all year.

I believe that Michael Young should be the All-Star starting shortstop with Tejada as the backup. Not only does Young have good stats, but he also is playing for a contender and is a key player on the Rangers, not to mention that he made a position change this year.

Tejada and Young are the only two that should even be considered.

and in the NL Jack Wilson is gonna get screwed.

fan voting is a sham.. as i posted in a thread a month or so ago!

Tejada deserves to be @ least in the game. Mora will probably be screwed out of being the starting 3rd base too!

I agree with you about Mora. The only person that should have a chance at beating him should be Hank Blalock, but A-Rod is to popular.

Although unpopular, A-Rod should be up there with the Blalock and Mora. His BA is almost .300 and he is leading all third basemen in homers and stolen bases.
