Now you all will disagree with me...But you know I am right. He has the highest OPS of any Oriole(Beats everyone else by more then 85 points), highest avg., 26 hrs, 99 rbis, and in case you missed it is starting to play a great 3b. Tejada might have his 140+ rbis this year(not a very meaningful stat btw) but i believe Mora deserves it.

I would make them Co-MVP's.

(now correct the spelling error in the title)

You can say all you want about Moneyball and the worthlessness of RBI's, but someone has to bring in the runs. I think the Moneyball philosophy says more that when you are looking for players, you should not consider RBI's as a meaningful stat. I guess that is because RBI's can come and go based on how well you hit with runners-in-scoring position and only because it is hard to predict. Javy Lopez has very similar stats to Tejada, but has 60 less RBI's. Should we attribute this to the fact that Lopez has had less opportunites to drive in runs, or the simple fact that Lopez has lacked the ability to knock in runs? Why would you discount what Tejada has done this year because you think RBI's are a meaningless stat. RBI's may not tell how good a player actually is, but when you consider who made the biggest impact on their team, their may be no bigger stat. My vote would go to Tejada, with Mora a close second.

You made a good point, except the fact that mora is hitting in front of him and getting less oppurtunites to get rbis. Plus, because Tejada has the luxury of playing in front of Mora(400+ obp), he always has men on base when he gets up. Tejada is a great player, but Mora is just better this year.

You're still missing the point. The definition of the most valuable player is not necessarily who is the best player. It's who made the biggest impact, and that is clearly Tejada.

This is absolutly ridiculous. Mora is a great player, but Tejada should be the MVP of the AL.

sorry but Tejada is the only reason we won as many games as we did, he should be the MVP in the AL

we.....WE?!?

Jbooma, you seem to be an expos fan, an orioles fan, and a Red Sox fan...What's the deal with that? Perhaps you should pick one and go with it.

Becuase I don't want to hear you're 'WE.' Especially since you have been so Anti-Orioles in the past.

tejada is clearly the mvp of the orioles and he had a hell of a season, but there's no way hes al mvp. baltimore was a bad team, and sheffield, manny, vlad and ortiz all deserve it over him. it would be different if the orioles were contending for a playoff spot.

My family is from Mass so that is where my redsox roots come from. However I have lived in the DC area my entire life so have always liked the O's except until what Angelos has done recently.

I was never an expo fan, just a dc baseball fan :)

If Mora is the MVP of the O's then is Angelos the LVO in MLB?

Tejada has been named MVO, Mora second and Ryan third.
