Lions give the Redskins their 1st, 4th, & 5th

Redskins give Lions Rod Gardner, 2nd, 4th, & 5th

(Correct me if I am wrong B&G... I am doing this from memory.)

I'll make the changes necessary this evening. Personally I think it's a good trade for both teams - of course taking into consideration Germaine Crowell wasn't signed before we started

Nice to see some deals actually being completed. I think we're going to see some asking prices dropping considerably as the deadline approaches.

Why give up on Rod so quickly? What are u gonna get from that first round pick that is so great?
YEAH, Harrington is probobly your answer, but can he play fun and gun ball? I would like to think so but the skins history in first round quarterback picks hasnt been so good.

I did not give up on Rod... I got a deal that I thought was outstanding. If the Skins get an offer like this, I would hope they would take it.

The Lions got one of the best young WRs in the league, granted....But for the 3rd pick of the draft, I traded Rod Gardner and a 2nd rounder, PLUS I got to move up several spots in the 4th & 5th. Places ideally suited to getting OGs or solid depth in alot of positions.

I think the Skins will be able to find an adequate replacement for Rod. Plus, the flexibility of the 3rd pick in the draft can get you a probowler, like Samuels or Arrington or Bailey.

PLUS this deal allows the Skins to keep thier 1st round #18 pick... Its a win-win deal for both teams IMHO.
