can our defense repeat this performance they had this year..the d had no namers step up for starters that were injured, and not just step in,but played at a high level...tell me folks can we duplicate this thing and how can it be done again?

It won't be done again unless we get a D-Line (excluding Griffin).

I disagree. I think it can be done and it will be done. It's a system obviously and Williams is the engine driving the machine. Sure you need talent (duh) but Coach Williams will have everyone ready to roll next year. It's extra incentive in fact to try and top this year's performance...

Yes. If we can put a number like that on the Vikings without a great d-line or Smoot, yes we can and will stay at this level of play.

Just because big name guys aren't there doesn't mean they aren't a good group. The only thing missing from that line to make it a top 5 DL is a consistent pass rusher that can grab 9-14 sacks per year.

I like the lunchpail type guys we have on the DL, but we need an edge rushing DE to create pressure IMO.

I agree. After watching the game Sunday, I think that the only thing we need to do is get a consistent rusher. If Philip Daniels can come back healthy, and fill that need then that'll work.

They will be even better next year.

IF we can keep the DL together and healthy, it can still be a good DL.
But here are the concerns:
1) Wynn may be lost due to his cap hit.
2) Salavea is a free agent.
3) look at the age of the DL. Almost all are at 30 or older. Need some young whipper snappers.
4) Will Griffin be able to have a second monster year? He's really the only player on the line capable of it.
