Yes, how dare he disparage the name "Rock". He doesnt deserve the name

Actually it's Roc in his case. I remember when he ran back a blocked FG kick(stupid conservative Llloyd Carr) against Michigan when he played for Washington.

He was drafted the same year Gardner was and I think he went in the 2nd round.

He was going against a rookie corner with Peyton Manning throwing him the ball. I bet Gardner could get 150 if he was in Wayne's position:rolleyes:

Gardner could not, and would not, have made the RAC's that Wayne made.

He wouldve dropped 50% of the balls thrown his way too.

Lets not forget that.

Its amazing when Rod gardener was drafted he was hailed with Cris Carter like hands...

They pulled a fast one on us.

Coaching, Coaching, Coaching Rod is physicall and better than anything we have on the team other than Coles.

Good idea. It would have better hands than Gardner and cost less against the cap!

Manning is smart. If Rod woulda dropped one, then he would have been lucky to see another ball for the rest of the night. Thats the kinda QB Manning is ...

I don't recall Gardner ever being hailed for his hands when he was coming out... As a matter of fact, all I remember was that catching is his weakness and he is slow. I wanted Koren Robinson out of the big four: Terrell, Robinson, Moss, and Gardner.

He most certainly was hailed for his hands. If it wasn't his hands, then what was it ? It surely wasn't his speed, size, quickness, route running, or ability to elude tackles after the catch, etc. He was supposed to be a posession receiver who could pull down balls in the midst of traffic.....a far cry from what he really turned out to be

im sorry but no.

You can "coach up" a player as much as you want but if he isnt firing on all cylinders between his ears, its for naught.

Rod has gianormous mental gaps and lacks concentration. Right now he's no better than a 3rd WR.

You hit the nail on the head he lacks concentration:doh: HELLO He has ability.

remember the giants game he dropped balls left and right then in practice they came up with the great idea of making him stay after and catch balls. He went out the next week and had a all pro day.

Don't act like Coles did not drop balls, Thrash, koz, etc.

He makes all the great catches and drops the easy ones somebody needs to stop treating him like Randy Moss in practice and coach him.

Everybody who goes to camp sees his lazy attitutde like he is walking on water.

Point is he is not making Coles money and has more ability than Jacobs, Mcants, Thrash

Thrash:laugh: great character, does not have great hands by a long shot, very soft, can not run block #3 reciever Great Teams guy:D

Jacobs high draft pick looks good in Camp but has been known to be soft was banged up a lot in Florida and has had injury problems here. I hope he turns out to be a gamer though but he has not shown enough.

One year later, and Reggie Wayne is STILL doin it.
And NOT against rookie corners either.

He would be an outstanding pickup. I'd be EXTREMELY happy with him or Moulds. I'd be happy with a pickup of anyone we could put at #2 and allow Patten to move into the slot.

He's gonna get a huge contract from some team.

Maybe they will.

I guess it depends on his character.
If he's a money type of player he'll probably leave
Indy with a huge contract somewhere else.

Remember Marcus Washington? It's called deep pockets. And arguably, we have as much to offer in terms of opportunity as the Colts do.

BTW -anyone notice what the Steelers are doing right now? Blitzing like hell against Manning and it worked. This is what GW should have done yesterday against Hasselbeck.

Nah, I don't think he'd deny a contract offer from us just because he wanted to be a "number 1" WR. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most teams start 2 WRs (sarcasm)?

You think Boldin and Fitzgerald argue over who's "number 1?"

goldenster95
January-15th-2006, 04:54 PM
Santana and Reggie Wayne are supposedly good buddies from the U. Maybe we can get Santana to use his influence to get Wayne here, IF, and that's a big IF, the Colts don't get him first.

I really think that Santana will make this happen. Danny is going to be looking for a WR and Wayne is the sexiest pick. This makes too much sense.

that's not what i meant....as of right now...moss gets all the passes thrown to him...if wayne comes here and is used like moss then yeah why not....but he's not gonna come here if he's gonna be used like our other recievers

I really think that Wayne will strongly consider coming here if we offer him a contract. Portis and Santana are good friends with Wayne and i can see that playing a key factor in a decision he will make. Gibbs may however decide he needs a bigger WR and opt for Moulds if he becomes available.

Moulds is too old. If you can get someone like Wayne, you can't pass up on him. Yes, we need a possession WR. But Wayne is too much a talent to let go.

If we had a starting tandem of Moss/Wayne, they would both post sick numbers. David Patten has NEVER been a #2, and James Thrash has probably never been a #3 (ok, maybe he has, but he ABSOLUTELY topped out at #3 and now is barely a #4). Reggie Wayne is leaps and bounds better than ANY Redskins WR over the last 10 years besides Santana.

Wasn't Thrash a #1 with Stinkston being #2 with the Eagles?

I'm still shocked the Eagles got to the NFC Championship 3 times in a row with Thrash and Stinkston being their 2 receivers.

i agree with u....having them both here would bring me back to those days in miami...god we were lucky to have them both on the field at the same time
