:)

I think next year Haywood will be averaging 12 pts, 10 rebs and 2 blocks a night...or somewhere close to those stats.

Not bad for a player who was considered soft coming out of college :)

I admit i was very weary of him coming into the season, but he has been tearing up the league as of late. One thing i dont like is, he still lacks strength, he did a good job of gaining muscle in the offseason, but he still needs to add about 10-15 more pounds.

I didn't realize his numbers were that good. Dang, thats impressive after what I saw last year.

I've come around on Eddie Jordan, but one of the qualms I still have with him is that he doesn't give Brendan enough PT in some games. Signing Brendan to a 5 year deal for $25 million before the season started is beginning to look like another great move by EG.

Yeh he was dunking on everyone with ease last night

bo and madcomp, i agree...he does need to gain some more weight, esp if shaq is around for another couple years...but then again, no one can match up with him...

and yeah, he needs more PT...he's developing, hopefully jordan wont stifle his progress

Agreed. He has held up defensively pretty well, I think, but occasionally you see him getting pushed around, a la Tractor Traylor last night on more than one possession..

He does still look lost sometimes, and his hands still occasionally revert to their cement block ways of yesteryear...

But man, he's really starting to get aggresive with his dunks, and the baby hook is starting to look really sweet.

If Jordan gives him that PT, and with the positive influence and healthy competition of Etan Thomas, those big dunks, blocks, rebounds, and sweet baby hook are going to add up to something for both opposing offenses and
DEFENSES to consider.

As if they don't already have problems guarding Gil, Larry, Antawn......

Another amazing thing I have noticed Haywood doing recently is....taking charges! Who would have thunk it? He got one from Pollard in Indiana and had another against Cleveland.

I wish his hands were soft. They are a lot better this year though. They went from brick to limestone.

My only problem with Haywood is that he doesn't have that instint for getting rebounds. To many times people are out jumping him and boxing him out. He really needs to learn what it takes to be a great rebounder. But we probably dont have a coach to teach him.

Eventually Haywood will develop into a very servicible inside presence for us...and we have him pretty cheap too...

yeah we sure did get him cheap but how cheap do you think we'll have to pay to keep Hughes. ..... This is going to be very interesting

Well....Hughes is an interesting situation...he has been injury prone for awhile and in the past there have been some motivation issues...I think he likes playing here...so we will probably end up paying him around 7-8 mill a year.....

I think he is already a serviceable Center and has the potential to be an allstar? In my dreams right? Never know....

Haywood has looked like a good center by today's standards this year. I just think he needs to pick it up on the defensive boards a little bit and get better at creating his own shot (not just put backs). There are nights when I think he's gonna be an all-star when he puts in some hooks and shows his moves in the post. I think there's only upside for him.

I'm calling him the NEW Brendan Haywood. :)
His offensive aggressiveness is quite an eye-opener! Loving the dunks. I kept thinking last year, "The guy's 7 ft tall, why doesn't he just DUNK it?!"
Whatever bug has bitten him, it's a good one. Someone mentioned that we may not have a coach who can help him get even better. I guess Eddie Jordan wasn't the one who brought him to this point?
