Edwards was having a ball kicking field goals, challenging people to punting contests, and showing off an extremely strong arm he hopes will come in handy for a trick play or two down the road. The day ended up being about camaraderie between NFL hopefuls, guys with varying draft expectations getting together for one of their final days as kids.
"I just happened to be working out down here and they called and asked if I wanted to be a part of it," said South Carolina receiver Troy Williamson, who immediately filled the vacancy Clarett created and really opened some eyes. "It was a great opportunity to meet some of the guys and share fellowship. A great experience."
Too bad Clarett missed out. It leaves everyone to wonder what he's up to. Whispers are that he's in shape, that he'll be taken somewhere in the draft. Monday's skill challenge could've provided an inkling that he's indeed ready to turn the page. Now, the wait continues, with yet another opportunity wasted.
