:DHas anybody got a picture of Sean Taylor lighting up MCchokerNabb on 4th down. Taylor sticks him so hard, it stops him in his tracks and saves the first down. This was last year when the refs. were screwing us even harder than this year. I know that they have cost us 1 game this year but last year they cost us at least 2 games. Anyhow, it was a massive hit that stopped the nasty birds from getting the 1st and the refs gave em a yard spot. It happend on the second Philly game last year, I think. Remember, the one we should have one. Seeing Phillys' QB getting lit up by ST would be a great picture for this meagles tributourial.

A decade later, Cowboy receiver Michael Irvin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Irvin) suffered a serious injury when he fell head-first onto the notorious AstroTurf, and would never play football again. A number of fans initially roared their approval for the hit, and again cheered when Irvin was carted off the field on a stretcher. This was due in part to Cowboy teammate Deion Sanders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deion_Sanders) (who, with Irvin, were the two players most hated by Philly fans) inciting the crowd with bizarre laying-on-of-hands movements. Regardless, the incident helped greatly to contribute to the negative perception of Eagles Fans. In 2002, Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel agencies could not get insurers to cover the their client fans to travel to the NFC Championship at the stadium. Fittingly, the Eagles lost to close the stadium.

The Eagles fans' hooliganism during a Monday Night Football (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monday_Night_Football) loss to the San Francisco 49ers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_49ers) in 1997 and a Dallas Cowboys game a year later was such that the City of Philadelphia was forced to assign a Municipal Court Judge, Seamus McCaffrey (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seamus_McCaffrey), to The Vet for game days to deal with miscreants removed from the stands. This court ran for the rest of 1998 season, then was moved to a location away from the stadium until the Eagles and the city discontinued it after the opening of Lincoln Financial Field (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Financial_Field) and Citizens Bank Park (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_Bank_Park) in 2003 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003), where thanks to modern technology and better behaved fans, there would be no need for what was termed "Eagles' court" by the Philadelphia sports media, noted as one of the tougher critics of their hometown teams.

As my name shows I'm stuck here in Philly but I've been a Skins fan my hole life. The incidents that happened over the years have been on both sides of the fence, some appauling behavior by the fans, but some blown out of proportion by the media. The "Snowballs at Santa Claus"...if you weren't there or here the story from someone there I can see why someone would look at that so negatively but the real story is the real Santa didn't make it to the stadium, they had some skinny little guy with the Santa clothes falling off him that was a little tipsy himself run onto the field. He playfully incited the crowd, that's where the snowballs came in.

But no excuse for the Michael Irving deal, as well as you guys that applauded when Vick went down last week.

So all this being said, I'm not defending Eagles fan except to say a lot of the same things happen in stadiums all over the Country.

I will say that their fan base is a bunch of complete morons with no, absolutely no clue about football. The want to say they're loyal, they're not... Even after a win the sports talk shows always have callers complaining about something.

They run their superstars out of town...uhhh wait, someone is coming to mind, can't think of his name....oh yeah, Allen Iverson will never wear a Sixers Jersey again!!!!

I don't know if that was an old quote about when was the last team the Skins beat the Eagles, but we swept them last year and won in their house on New Year's Day, one of, if not, the biggest party day for the entire city. It's awesome up here on New Years.
