Fisher Interested in Talking to USC's Chow About Coordinator Position

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher wants to talk with Southern California offensive coordinator Norm Chow about the Titans' coordinator job.

Fisher, a USC alumnus, is looking for a new offensive coordinator after losing Mike Heimerdinger to the New York Jets last month.

He has interviewed assistant head coach George Henshaw and quarterbacks coach Craig Johnson off his own staff.

But Fisher had held off talking with college coaches until national signing day passed on Wednesday.

Fisher said on radio Thursday morning that he is trying to talk with Chow and a Titans spokesman said Chow is one of many coaches Fisher is interested in.

Chow, 58, has helped groom Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart into Heisman Trophy winners at USC where the Trojans have won the national title the past two seasons. He spent 27 years at Brigham Young working with quarterbacks such as Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer, Steve Young and Jim McMahon - a former teammate of Fisher's.

I can't believe this guy isn't at least a college head coach by now.

All reports indicate that Norm isn't a very personable guy. The role of head coach probably wouldn't suit him too well due to his personality. He's a great O Coordinator though.

I thought it was because he makes like $500k a year as a O cordinator in college and likes having the summers off....

Matter of fact I dont think I'd leave either.

And he is in southern cali. Great weather and lots of eye candy.

I think he would have made a great offensive coordinator in the NFL. Probably would have had his own "Greatest show on turf"

I can only think of what he could do here in DC

Jeff Fisher is smart for going after Chow.

It's possible, I think he wants a new challenge. He can't seem to get an HC job, so he might take the step up to the NFL. What else does he have to prove in college? He runs a pro style offense, and I'm sure it will be a big increase in pay.
