Thrilled to death it's been so quiet today? Wow. Maybe we do indeed have a new sheriff in town (and no, I don't mean that pathetic, tackling around the shoulders loser Stanley Richard). This is making me feel really really good. The biggest signing was OUR OWN GUY, Samuels. And I am really happy we were able to hang on to the Wild Samoan. I can live without Pierce, but WE NEED SMOOT. Make it happen, fellas!

Yeah a little peace and quiet was a welcome change. I'm also glad to see Samuels back, he gets bashed a lot around here, but he's the best guy we'd be able to get.

Not really...I wanted to see us sign someone like Pierce, Smoot, or Burress...or atleast hear more about a Gardner or Coles trade.
Pretty much a snoozefest since I woke up this morning.

Gibbs was here last year and oversaw a very active and very successful offseason in terms of talent acquisitions. The only thing that has changed from last offseason to THIS offseason is Gibbs is entering his second year. He knows what he has and what he doesn't. And, fortunately, the team has done a good job of filling almost every pressing need in the last few offseasons, so we enter this year with little we HAVE to do.

That changes, obviously, if we lose Smoot and Pierce creating two areas we have to look to fill, but, right now, Gibbs knows enough to know he doesn't have to do all that much to field a largely complete team. If things fall into place the right way we will have at least 18 starting players from last year starting this year with a couple being held in reserve.

How you build a team is to do it over a period of years within a successful system with successful coaches. Gibbs and Williams provide that stability. And, therefore, we don't have to sign six guys unless we lose six of our own in the coming days.

Yes, but a snoozefest makes me happy....Smoot and Pierce made it clear they are going to see what they can get and come back to us and say..."hey, they are willing to give us X, and you?" Barrow makes me nervous cause he is old, but I think we can get over the loss of Pierce. The coaches are so good...my thinking is, they plugged Pierce in there like it was nothing, why can't they do it with someone else?

But with a corner....damn. Thank God the Rolle rumor was false. If they were going to give him more than Smoot and sign him...I would have s**t myself. That would have been totally unacceptable. But I think Smoot will be offered more than we can afford. I hope Fred will have a little loyalty and realize him and his kids and grandkids will be very comfortable without the extra 2 million or whatever. He is a true Skin...and he needs to stay. Period. We love him and we want him. And if he just can't do it, then please Fred, back up your statement about how you hate Texas Stadium and don't have a frickin' star on your helmet next year.

Just a naysayer you are... Honestly I'd rather hear nothing at all bout a coles deal. I'd much rather it just sorta go away, and Coles get his act straight. This kind of change in house is welcome by me. Let's just fic our problems instead of trying to create new ones, then sit back and wait for draft...
