In the WP he said:
"I love the guys who want to be here and work hard on this team, however if you don't want to be here then stay home."
Ouch, I think that might be what the players feel. If this is how all of them feel then there is NO way you can bring Coles back now.

Didn't Samuels refuse to comment when John Thompson asked him how Coles would be received in the locker room if he returned? I'm sure a bunch of the guys are disappointed with Coles. Jansen is probably another one who does not think highly of Coles right now.

No actually I think its the exact opp. If all the players feel like this then there is no way that Coles can be a locker room problem. He will have to come out and work hard, or he will be dealt with harshly.

i love it. I dunno how gibbs did it but most of this team is really united. We've developed the blue collar approach to football, people on this team, minus a few select individuals, really want to just work hard, play, and win. they know they're gettin paid so the finances are outta sight & outta mind

When you say stay home, that doesn't give you an option of working hard
Gibbs must have cringed when he heard this.

Samuels said that when we had no chance for the playoffs he said the team played harder then he has ever seen, he loved it and the other players.

That made me feel all warm and fuzzy when I read that Thomas said that.

Yeah....he answered... "That's a tough one".... or something like that. But, he did go on to say that he knows Coles would play hard regardless

I don't think Coles working hard or not is/or was ever the problem.
I just think other players realize he didn't want to be here, and that has a negative impact on others. When you're all trying to work for a central goal, and one guy isn't there doing that, it wears on others.

How long is Thomas under contract? I don't ever want to see him leave. I want Jansen, Samuels, and Thomas remembered as the foundation for the "dirtbags" years down the road.

Nobody is going to do anything to him.
What is all this crap about he'll be dealt with harshly?
This is America 2005, and the NFL 2005, that kind of stuff doesn't happen anymore. These guys get paid far too much, and there is way too much media availability to the team for anything like that to happen.
Basically they mean he won't have any friends on the team. If that's what you consider harsh then so be it.
