Another Ice Age Starting? :(

An iceberg or ice shelf which is 1,250 square miles in size, just broke off in Antartica. This is the second one in recent years.

And the builders of the Titanic had the balls to say that their ship was unsinkable. Yeah right. Like any ship is going to hold together after colliding with a 500 billion lb. ice berg.

Romo - You friggin whiner. It's been relatively mild for the past month with the exception of consistent rain. But it is May after all :)

Monday night i played soccer in a downpour when it was 5 Celcius. Besides the fact we lost 10-0 (its half field), it was horrible. I almost got an amonia, and yes im a whiner about weather. But its in my nature. Per Capita Canadians talk about the weather more then any other country.

As stated in a previous thread, I do not claim to be a scientific expert, but wouldnt global warming cancel out a potential Ice Age

Mick,

If you read the link or links you will find out that global warming is the culprit and what may be the cause behind a new Ice Age. At least according to some scientists. :(

I don't think we are entering another Ice Age. The weather has a lot of different cycles to it that man doesn't know about or is just discovering.

I read in the National Enquirer (no $hit) that another Ice Age was coming in a week. That was about six months ago. But I am confounded as to how global warming could cause an ice age...I can understand how it would cause coastal flooding due to melting of glaciers and icebergs and what have you, but an ice age? Could somebody please expand?

Well, if you are getting your info from the National Enquirer then there lies your problem. Personally, global warming is a big fat lie but that is another topic. The reasoning behind how global warming can cause an ice age is this. There are ocean currents that transport warm water to the northern(colder) areas and vice versa. This is another example of how the planet tries to regulate the temp and balance itself. The theory is that if an influx of fresh water into the oceans(from melting polar ice caps) might shut this current off and cause the northern hemisphere to cool down dramatically ala New Ice Age.:peace:
