With the new offensive line and a more productive Ramsey with a year of Joe Gibbs' system under his belt, I really think Portis could easily get 1,800-2,000 yards this season. He would need to average 115-125 yards per game which is very doable. And you know the Redskins record when he gets 100+ yards.

Good God. Don't people read things?!?! The title "Portis" is EXACTLY what is wrong with this board during FA.

Edit: As far as the actual topic goes, I hope you're right.

That may be a bit optimistic, but it sure would be nice. 15 TDs is the mark I'm more anxious to see him surpass.

tds...exactly. 1-2000 yds is great and all, but if you're not getting in the end zone, it doesn't really matter. he needs to be waaaay more productive in the red zone.

Yeh, I'll think about yards after this season, I just want to see us avg. more than 18 points a game plz... Portis getting 20 TDs would help that...

i think we should shoot for about 1500 yards and 10 tds to be realistic although he could very easily break both of those marks if we really get offense going

I think Portis is going to have a career year.

Hey, at least he spelt his name right

Portis is a rare talent and could potentially flirt with 2000 yards but I would take 1,500 and 15 touchdowns....I am excited to see him run behind our revamped O-line

1500 yards and 15 TDs, not to much of a strech. Portis is a better back than his numbers showed last season and he wants to prove himself. The upgraded Oline and Ramsey running the offense for the whole season (hopefully) will allow Portis to return to his Denver form.

Portis and the team need to focus on improving his YPC. 1300+ yards is something to be proud of, but gaining that at 3.8 YPC, is not.

in my opinion it is all in the hands of ramsey. i think gibbs will make the running schemes fit around portis's talents this year and if ramsey can make some plays and stretch the field then portis will have a field day on teams. if ramsey struggles then the defenses will continue to stack 8 and 9 men in the box. with that being said i believe ramsey will get the passing game going and make some big plays to open up the running game

Portis will have at least 1500 yards next season. No questions asked. Unless he gets injured, I just see him having an extroidinary year next year

i agree with whoever said he needs to produce more in the redzone BUT portis is like 5'11 205 or something , so when the ball is snapped and your o-line cant hold big ass goal line package d-linemen off of ya then your gonna get stuffed lol , i think with the new o-line if they stay healthy and new WRs we should be ok

I don't understand why 3.8 YPC is all that bad. You get that three times, and suddenly you have a first down. I guess 4.5 is when it starts being good, but 4.0 is when it isn't bad, and 3.8 isn't that far from 4.0. It's funny how much better 4.0 sounds than 3.9, even though it's only a difference of 3.6 inches.

Yeah, he'll have a much better season. With our line additions and a better grasp of the run play schemes, he'll have a 1500 yard season in my opinion. We'll find out if we can kepp the O-line healthy enough for that to happen.

Clinton Portis is the man he had a great year for the situation our offensive system was working. He would of had 1500 yards last year if we would have had Jansen. We have Jansen this year and the same offensive system for the second year and an upgraded line. CP will definitely do better the man is so damn young only 23.
