View Full Version : Would you give a 4th rounder for...

... Najeh Davenport.
I haven't read anyone suggesting this, but he is a RFA with a minimum tender (would require a 4th round draft pick this year). The Packers have been said to likely not match any offer to Najeh. He is 6'1", 250 lbs, perfect for the "big-back" Gibbs likes for short yardage. His career average is 5.1 ypg and this would reunite Davenport with Moss and Portis, the "big-three" from a formidable 2000 Huricanes squad...
Hate to give up draft picks, but could this be worth it? Don't forget Rock is a RFA. I think Davenport would be an upgrade over Rock.

Yes, he would be ideal in GL situations!

Yes, he had (by far) the greatest off the field incident ever. I'd pony up a #4 just so we could hear more about why he took a dump in some girl's laundry basket who he didn't know.
(Come on guys, like you haven't been there before ;) )

I think that we have enough Miami players on our roster, I'm afraid that having so many will make Cliques form.

No, but I would definitely give up a 5th for LB Scott Fujita.

This guy moves the pile. I'd trade a 4th for him in a heartbeat and unless our blocking improves dramatically next year, yes, a big back is a need. As much as it pains me, I still remember our redzone performances from last season.

That's why his name is Dookie Davenport. :)
That said, he should be worth a 4th to somebody, if not us. You would think Miami would be all over him, unless they are sure they are taking a RB in the first.

I'd give 4 peanuts for him.

It's one thing to have been there before...it's another thing to have gotten caught!
...and no, I've never taken a dump in some girl's laundry basket that I didn't know...I knew her. ;)

I would give a 4th for him and cut Rock!

Clock management, playcalling, stupid penalties, and blocking were the four biggest reasons we didn't do well on short yardage last year. A lack of a big power back would be the 5th most significant reason.

Has he had any further off-field problems? I think he would be a nice acquisition pending salary demands. What do his teammates feel about him? How much money is he looking for?
