Last season everyone was on a positive Welcome back Joe Gibbs high... and predicting all kinds of positives for the Skins in '04

this season... everybody and their brother in the media is jumping down the Skins throat... going way out of their way to lambast Snyder, Gibbs, and the Redskins in general.

hopefully karma will kick in and reverse the Skins fortune :fingersx:

The true fans will stay positive. I won't question Gibbs because I feel like we don't know everything there is to know and his grace period with me is eternal. He got us 3 rings, how many have the other skins coaches gotten us?

The problem with people who can do a 180 degree turnaround that quickly and easily....is that they can do it again just as quickly and easily when they're proven wrong...lol

Good point Bubba…folks act like he’s in his 3rd-4th year. Not only does he have to dissect what NFL teams are doing currently, he has to get his players on the team. There is obviously some pain involved, but Gibbs will be a winner – you can bet on that!

I trust Joe Gibbs and I believe that Danny really wants to win and loves the Redskins. I have faith that together they will right the ship and turn things around. I think we have already headed in the right direction even though it might not appear that way to the outside world. We are in the midst of a philosophy change here and with that comes growing pains. We have already improved our cap situation for next year, which would of been brutal.

I'm liking it. Lower, realistic expectations. It's only year 2. Gibbs has been out of football for 12 FREAKIN YEARS. Imagine being away from your job for 12 years, or out of school for that long. I sure as hell would be rusty.

And keep in mind that Gibbs is in charge of our entire organization. It takes time to get it right again.

I love this week, even though it's hard to lose quality players. But there's a definite shift in philosophy, and I love it.
Now let's seriously start to lobby for a GM.

I like what's happening now as well..always tough to lose good players, but things are falling into place for the future.

I still have faith in Gibbs, he will get er done and get it right...he is here for a minimum of 5 years. I'll be patiently waiting..it's tough, we've endured some mediocre years...but I'm not going anywhere...God willing rooting the Skins on.:point2sky :logo: :helmet:

karma is a wonderful thing, how sweet it will be when we make the playoffs next year to be able to rub it in the face of Smoot, Pierce & Coles when thier respective teams all miss the playoffs.

People are so ridiculous. The Patriots let big name free agents walk every offseason. All it's gotten them is 3 Super Bowl titles in the last four years. Read this paragraph from Wise's column in today's Post:

Gibbs is letting players walk like he's Bill Belichick and Cerrato is Scott Pioli, New England's bright, young general manager. He wants a lean, mean, salary cap friendly team. The problem is, they can't discard players like Ty Law and Troy Brown, whom the Patriots let walk after their third Super Bowl in four years. Washington is not New England. For all Gregg Williams's defensive genius, this team cannot merely plug players into the system. For starters, they don't even have a working offensive system at the moment.

Huh??? I would think that trying to model your team after the most successful franchise in the sport would be a good thing, but maybe that's just me. Maybe we should resign all of our defensive players to huge contracts so we can never improve the talent level of our offense. Great idea!

And who says that you can't just plug players into Williams' system? Weren't we missing LaVar Arrington practically all season last year? We did ok with his replacement. Matt Bowen, too. Wasn't Pierce, in fact, a guy who was just "plugged in" to the system? Didn't we shut down Randy Moss and one of the most explosive passing games in football the last week of the season without Smoot?

He calls this the worst offseason in recent memory, but teams are built in the offseason. Judging by regular season results, we haven't had a good offseason since 1998-1999. If there is one thing that covering the Redskins should have taught this guy, it's that you can't judge an offseason until the regular season has been played out.

I have no problem with Gibbs turning this team into a blue collar, hardworking group of players that genuinely want to be here.

I'm pretty sure it worked before. . . .3 times!!!!

It's going to take longer than 1 year for Gibbs to repair this team.

I feel like the only one who thinks this, but I am confidant we will see a much better team this year.

The Media lives in a vaccuum where short attention spans rule. Nobody remembers what they wrote five minutes ago, let alone last year. Life is pretty boring. If the press wasn't there to jazz it up a little, we'd all actually have to work or read a book or mow the lawn to get anything satisfying out of our existences -- I mean, whatever would we complain about if there was no Media Bashing of the Redskins?!
