I don't remember seeing it for the first time. Now when I watch it, I can't get emotionally caught up in it because it's a cartoon. Live action maybe...I've been guilty of that plenty of times.
I'll be the first to tell you that I am a cry-baby. My girl loves it though. Give and take.

Nowadays for some reason I can't take the high testosterone, ultra manly scenes in movies, or while watching tv. Like Cuba Gooding's scene in Pearl Harbor, its not like a macara running down my face type of cry, its a deep breath, a few tears, and a whole lot of sniffling.

I cried! I would cry more when my pain in the ***** uncle would go hunting and come back to tell me he killed Bambi. I once would not talk to him for 2 weeks. He lived with us and I was only 5 or 6 and he tried everything to get me to talk to him but nope I was mad !

Manic, I definitely cried when I saw it. I mean Bambi's mother is shot in the first five minutes of the movie. How traumatic is that? Especially when you see it in a classroom full of kids when their mothers aren't around to comfort the kids (circa 1st grade).

I clearly remember seeing Bambi in the movies with my parents back in the day. I remember bawling abouot Bambi's mother's death, and to this day I have this "thing" about deer - all due to that movie.
I think it may be a societal thing about kids not being as worked up about this movie...think of what's been going on in the world - what's on TV when they turn it on to watch (assuming mom-n-dad don't monitor their kids' watching, and there are those who do not) and what type of video games are out on the market now. Mother-of-Bambi is tame compared to that.

I was way too young to remember Bambi, but when Simba's father died in the stampede in the Lion King, I definitely started sniffling. Yeah, I admit it. Another movie that gets me everytime is Cool Runnings when they carry the bobsled over the finish line. Cinematic brilliance.

ooh...I just remembered a toon that got me a little. Almost cried at Ice Age (of all movies!). When they finally returned the baby neanderthal to her dad. Got the sniffles on that one.

Ever notice that in every Disney movie the main characters parent or sibling dies in the first 15 minutes...:(
