There are very explict rules about what is and is NOT acceptable here... the Staff seriously HATES to ban anyone, but its a necessary evil if you want to maintain high quality discourse.

Every single banning is scrutinized closely before its executed. Anyone who gets banned, I guarantee you he deserved it.

You take a look at our mod staff.... guys like Henry, Art, Tarhog, TK. These are not only high quality mods... they are high quality people.

They not only been mods for years... but have been members of this community for nearly as long. They know EXACTLY what we're trying to build and create here. That's why they were chosen to be staff.

And I'd trust their judgment on matters pretty much without hesitation. As mods, and as people.... even though we do have some disagreements :)

And if you haven't figured that out by now.....

Leave the politics and site matters to staff.

He wasn't banned. And what a great idea for a thread! I know a lot of folks had trouble sleeping last night because of all the tossing and turning. He's on 'read-only' for a week. When/if he apologizes, sincerely, maybe he'll be allowed to post again. And honestly, considering the drivel he typically posts, thats beyond fair.

I love how some here always assume the staff has taken the harshest steps possible without any thought whatsoever. Kind of like those same guys assume the Redskins front office just makes random, ill-considered decisions.

If you have an issue with staff, pm me, or Art, or TK, or Henry. Or even one of the owners if you feel the need. Don't start a thread cluttering up the board asking a question that, to be truthful, is none of your business.

Well, I was in a band for 8 years, and let me tell you, it's not easy keeping a band together. Everybody has their own view about which direction you should go in.

I really don't understand why every so often some paranoid type has to make these kinds of accusations against the mods. Anyone with any brains at all ought to be able to see the way you guys operate after a few short visits here. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you...

The first thing that went thru my head after reading the first post in this thread is WHY does this guy care?

Is he his best friend or is it him with another ip?

Guys like him are the reason I don't post like I used to. I know the Mods work there butts off, but with the explosion of memberships in the past year this place has lost something.

I can't exactly put my finger on exactly what or maybe I just can't explain it properly. It just seems to me that the newbies don't take the time to read the rules. They also don't seem to lurk and read and learn before they jump into the fray anymore.

I understand it takes awhile to acclimate yourself to a new environment and people will make mistakes along the way, Lord knows I made my blunders. We just never had 20,000 people learning the ropes at the same time.

Maybe I just need to be more patient or maybe they should just take the time to read the damn rules?

Tommy, bare with us. Seriously.

We're are experiencing growing pains by dealing with things most sites have never experienced before nor will ever experience.

We're learning as we go along... developing rules... and strategies to enforce them.

And bottom line.... I'm REALLY excited about upgrading our software shortly. We've got some AMAZING hacks to the benefit of our members..... and more importantly... we will be instituting a number of new hacks that will make the enforcement of rules MUCH easier for the moderators.

It'll cut down their work significantly.

Trust me on that :)
