I'm thinking about getting a Redskins script "R" (like on Gibbs' hat) on my upper arm, but I know very little about the process after.
First of all, I'm not sure how well any color would preserve. Will something like a burgundy fade into a darker, uglier color? I'm thinking either a burgundy "R" with a gold outline, a burgundy "R" with a black outline, or just a black "R" with some sort of burgundy/gold outline. A full black "R"? Maybe a burgundy "R" with a black and gold outline?
I'm not sure, I'm just brainstorming the ideas, but I'm primarily concerned about the colors. How well would a burgundy preserve it's hue?
Also, which one color combo, if any, do you think would look good?

Maybe you should PM dks1240, this is her tattoo:

It's not the script R, but may answer some of your coloring questions.

yea i wasn't 100% sure about getting the gold...i almost left it as just skin. i think the gold looks pretty good, it will need touching up down the road but oh well. just out of curiousity, how big do you want the R to be?
if you want to get a tattoo get it soon because you arent suppose to submerge them in water for 30 days after you get them (in case you want to do some swimming in the summer).

And don't tan!
My tatoo faded because I exposed it to a tanning booth's rays.

I'm not thinking too terribly big, probably around 3 inches in height and a 2-2.5 inches wide.

We went to FL for thanks giving this year and when we were down there we went to the bar to watch the eagles game and when we were there we met this huge redskins fan he had a helment signed by a bunch of redskins players and a redskins helment tattoo and had all our superbowls in roman numerals and he had all the ones we won in burgandy and all the ones we lost in the apponents colors it was pretty cool but i am thinking bout getting one in a few years ut if i do i think i will just get "redskins" in burgandy though.

I was a little worried about the color when I got mine as well. I just went with black ink.
If the color fades, it'll fade light. So, I was worried about burgundy looking pink and gold looking yellow.
The first 2-3 weeks after a tattoo are critical. As long as you take care of it, the way you are supposed to, you shouldn't have to worry too much about fading. But eventually, after time, it will begin to fade. Unless you live in a cave. :)
