I see he only signed a one year deal in Feb. and both sides are far apart on a contract 3 year 21 mil vs. 3 year 16 mil. And I also see where one scout who has been watching about 14 teams this spring said A.J. Burnett and Cabrera looked to be the two best pitchers this spring.

Any Chance the Marlins would want to trade him by midseason and would we go after him agressively??

Well, since the Marlins are a contender in the NL, they won't part with a gun like Burnett until they absolutely have to. Most teams, especially in a pennant chase would bite the bullet and pay the difference for the sake of the run, but the Marlins are a different sort of franchise and tend to be predictably unpredictable.

Burnett would probably get more than 3/21 on the open market anyway! (unless the market adjusts after least year's splurge). The Orioles are probably interested as long as they get a long term extention.

Two scenarios where the Marlins trade Burnett.
1. They fall completely out of the race at the trade deadline
2. They realize the won't re-sign him, trade for another available starter, and then figure they could trade Burnett for a reliever that will go to the back of their bullpen(8th inning guy).

Sounds like a Jorge Julio trade partner in this scenerio.

If Cabrera recovers from a bad 1st game(and he will) and the rotation plays like they did in thier first starts then we might not have to mention AJ again for a while.
