Ricky Williams to pay Child Support

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Former NFL rushing champion Ricky Williams will pay $4,200 per month in child support under terms of a paternity suit settlement with a former South Florida woman.

Cherie Clark, who now lives in Hawaii, will have custody of the child, Kekoa Blaze Williams. Ricky Williams agreed to establish a $300,000 trust fund for the boy and pay for his medical and life insurance, along with attorney fees in the case.

"We believe the settlement is in the best interests of the child," Clark's lawyer, Doug Reynolds, said Thursday.

The agreement was approved Wednesday by Broward County Circuit Judge Renee Goldenberg.

Williams, who has been traveling in India, quit the Miami Dolphins last July. Williams later acknowledged that he failed drug tests and faced a suspension for testing positive three times for marijuana.

Williams, a Heisman Trophy winner with the Texas Longhorns, owes the Dolphins $8.6 million because he breached his contract by retiring.

is it just me, or is that woman getting it pretty sweet. Im not sure what the cost of living is in Florida, but 4200 a month = 50,400 a year. I think thats definitely more than enough for a mother and child to survive on, but I wouldnt know too much either bout that.

Anyone else laugh when they read the thread title?

Agreed. A lot of dual income families don't make $50000 a year.

This really has nothing to do with him being a pot head this has to do with taking care of his responsibilities...anyway the woman is living in Hawaii so it will be bit pricier to live

If I were a betting man...I'd say that Williams had nothing to do with the naming of the child....try not to make an issue out of something when it is not...

I knew a Blaise once. I think it can be spelled "Blaze" too but it's a legitimate name. Though, the way RW announced his habits to the world, it's strange. Hippies are strange folk. They'll name their kids, "Kaya" and "Love" and "Peace" and "Herb". :D
