I think Arizona and Teneessee could both be problems.
The Cardinals have the worst CB situation in the league. Can you name any of their CBs? Yeah, neither can I.
The Titans had to cut both of their starting CBs in FA, so you know they want to fill that hole up.
I am starting to grow on to Pac Man Jones but I think the Titans or Cardinals might snatch him up....

The Cardinals could definitely grab a corner if they pull off a draft day deal for Travis Henry. I'm fine with any of the top 3 corners or Merriman. As long as we come away with one of those guys I will sleep easy.

Who cares Carlos Rodgers is better than Pac Man or Rolle and he will be there at 9 and could even trade down like 5 spots gain a 2nd rounder and still pick him.

I still think Rodgers and Jones will be there at #9 - at which point I'd have to take Rodgers or trade down.

i kind of like pacman... no real reason to back it up except even tho he is small he seems to overcome it and even has a reputation for a good hitter (better than rodgers even)... plus if what is written about how he wants to be a redskin and idolizes DG is true, then i am all for him regardless of his size

just trade down get a second rounder so we can pick up one of the DE in the 1st and a corner in the 2nd or the other way round doesnŽt matter, only to strengthen the D and then weŽll be fine, hopefully Lavar will get healthy soon, otherwise we`ll have problems at the LB postion

I still think that if we don't try to get Pacman then we are seriously making a mistake. The guy is gonna be a beast. Who knows, maybe even be like Darrell Green and stay his entire career just to be a Skin!

Pac Man is bigger than Smoot....maybe not qiite as tall but 13 lbs heavier and with over a 38" vertical leap....hope he's there at 9th
......Pat Fischer was only 5'9" 170 lbs

Smoot is the same weight and is 2 inches taller.

Somebody tell me about Carlos Rodgers.
His size, his speeds.....background.
I don't know much about him.

The cardinals are a running back away from having a very talented, young offense. They'll pick running back, if they don't pick QB. The titans are the real problem for us if we decide to go that way. If we don't trade for clements then we should still draft a corner. We didn't get the DE to balance losing Smoot, and we haven't gotten anyone to replace Smoot. Walt Harris is a great nickel back. A nickel back. It'd be better to have someone who can push Walt back to where he'd be most effective.

In the days of Pat Fischer you could mug the receiver all the way down the field - and he was one the best ever at doing that. Today you can't do that and the wr's are bigger than many of the te's were back then. Hard to compare players from very different eras.

thanks, seems that he is more steady than Pac-Man.
I don't know. I guess he'd be ok.

He has huge potential but has only had 1 good year in college.
A project player that could go either way IMO.

Rogers IMO, will end up being the best CB in the draft. He's got the size and atheletic ability of Chris McAlister. And he'd probably be the best fit for us, he's good in run support and I imagine he'd be alot more effective than Smoot in blitz situations. I doubt a QB would be able to flick him off like a flea.

I think the corners in this draft go deep. The guys who are not "TOP THREE" corners are very good. There are going to be very good corners in round two and three.

basically saying that if needed, he could be the nickle for a year before he's the starter?
I guess if we MUST go CB, and the other two are gone. Then fine.
I'm still wanting a pass rush in the 1st round.
I think we could get a decent CB in the 3rd if we're patient. You want 5'9, 5'10? Foxworth should be there in the 3rd.

Id say 2 years at nickle. He's never shown consistancy and needs to learn how to play the position.
D adn O line depth is what is needed this year and we should take that with our later round picks. Id rather get a CB next year when we have a full compliment of draft picks.

yeah, a guy who won't start for 2 years isn't worth a 1st round pick right now.
LB or DE please.

I agree that trading down would be the better option because there is some good depth at corner this draft. However, the problem is that no one wants to trade up. Finding a trade partner to move up and give up a late 1st and a second or later picks just will not be as easy to come by like other drafts.

you don't need to trade down. Take the best Pass Rusher you can get at #9. Then get a CB with your next pick.

If we trade down for Rogers...
You could then get a guy like Justin Tuck in the 2nd round to help rush the passer. So if we can do it, I'd be all for it.

I think people believe trading in a top-weak draft like this, is still easy.
I think it will be very difficult to trade down this year.

From the sounds of it I'd like Rodgers, and if we get a 3rd with him, all the better. But look at the constant theme here. Take the number two or three defense in the league, and use the first two draft picks, possibly a first and second to bolster that d, and factor in the assumed return of Lavar and lest we for forget Barrow, who already says he has something to prove. At this rate, Gregg Williams may never want to leave!

who would want to trade to the #9 pick? for for what player? This wouldn't happen until our pick came up, and there would have to be a shocker to fall that far.

I would trade down and pick up a #2, then I would draft either Rogers if available, or Justin Miller who will be available, I have just recently seen highlights on this kid and he's Deion like as a returner, he makes defender's look like their standing still, his only flaw is he's a little raw but Williams will coach that out of him in a heartbeat. By going this route we will enable ourselves to grab a big WR in the second, preferably Vincent Jackson, but we could go with Jones both should be available in the second, if we feel a need to move up a little more we can sweetin the pot a little with Gardner.
