Updated for rumors, speculation and outright boredoom on my part. Picks 1-8 with a ?? for the Skins.

So here we go... :D

1. San Francisco – QB Aaron Rodgers

2. Miami – RB Ronnie Brown

3. Cleveland – LB Derrick Johnson. Romeo goes defense with his first pick in the draft and gives Dilfer the keys to the car.

4. Chicago – WR. Braylon Edwards

5. Tampa Bay – QB Alex Smith. After landing Travis Henry in a deal with the Bills for the Bucs #36 and #144 pick (2nd and late 5th round) Chucky get a new QB for the 2nd time in 2 years.

6. Tennessee – CB Antrelle Rolle

7. Kansas City (trade with Minnesota, Min gets KC’s #15 and the #46 overall picks (1st and 2nd round picks) Minn then takes Troy Williamson with the #15 pick) CB Adam Jones

8. Arizona – RB Cedric Benson. With no Travis Henry, they take the best RB available.

9. Washington ???

dude, you just set it up for a Merriman/Williams pick.

I think Mike Williams goes to Tampa though. They need a WR and RB so much more than QB this year.

If you can't trade down of course.

Gee I would have never thought Williams would be on the board at 9 in your mock.

Oldskool,
I pray that your mock draft becomes reality. If Mike Williams falls to #9 there won't be a ? who the Skins should and will take. That's interesting that KC would trade up to get Pac Man though.....could happen. Thanks for the brain food on a bored Friday afternoon!

KC has the leagues worst defense against the pass, so it makes sense to me for them to trade up to get a established CB (Rolle or Jones) versus a prospect (Rogers).

Why would KC want t trade with Minnesota to grab a corner when they are finalizing the trade for Surtain?

They could easily trade with us if Rolle or Jones is on the board when we pick.

Why take that chance?

Look at the teams that could possibly take Rolle/Jones in the top 10 picks.

Tennessee
Arizona
Washington

You have to trade early to ensure that you get one that you want. I chose Minnesota due to the fact that I dont think that Tenn knows what they want to do yet (up in the air with Dyson still a UFA).

Beacuse you need 2 corners. Both McCleon and Warfield are either over 30 or close to it and are obviously not starters anylonger.

what if the Surtain deal goes through? Miami can't afford him.

If KC trades up, I kind of doubt it would be for Pacman.

They need a corner in the worst way but Vermeil hates rookies. So the first guy he's going to look for is a polished senior who can step right in like Rolle or Rogers. I suppose he'd consider a player like Derrick Johnson or Mark Clayton too.

If they take Pacman, it will be because he fell to their pick - not because they traded up for him. But I suppose one never knows.

This isn't what you actually think is going to happen is it? My guess is that this is wishful thinking as people try to dream up scenarios in which Mike Williams falls to #9. It isn't going to happen. Out of the top 8 picks, only the Cardinals are absolutely not going to draft a WR and Williams is too good for 7 teams that could use him to pass on him

Rolle is a FS/SS in CB clothing and Rogers is anything but polished.

For better or for worse, despite his size, Jones is the best CB in the draft.

isnt that what most fans mock drafts are? Again ive laid out what I THINK is going to happen and why certain things will when the team isnt set on a certain player.

FYI - how the top 8 picks are really going to shake out:

1. San Francisco – QB Alex Smith

2. Miami – RB Ronnie Brown

3. Cleveland – LB Derrick Johnson

4. Chicago – WR. Braylon Edwards

5. Tampa Bay – QB Aaron Rodgers

6. Tennessee – WR Mike Williams

7. Minnesota - DE Sean Merriman

8. Arizona - RB either Cedric Benson or Cadillac Williams

or, possibly:

1. San Francisco – QB Aaron Rodgers

2. Miami – RB Ronnie Brown

3. Cleveland – QB Alex Smith

4. Chicago – WR. Braylon Edwards

5. Tampa Bay – WR Mike Williams

6. Tennessee – RB Cedric Benson or Cadillac Williams

7. Minnesota - DE Sean Merriman or LB D. Johnson

8. Arizona - RB whichever of the big three is left

but either way, Mike Williams is not going to fall past the Bucs/Titans/Vikings

That is a great scenario if we want to go corner.

I couldn't agree less.
