I am in the military stationed overseas; not having a chance to catch any skins games! Does any one know if there will be games broadcasted over the internet or to download when the season starts. I do get DSL out here! One thing I am going to dread being over here is missing my skins games. So if you have any info you can share please help. Thanks!

i think there's a service where you can listen to the games live, either through nfl radio or espn, but i don't think there's anything like mlb.tv where you can watch them on the internet yet...unfortunately....I don't know if there are any satellite tv options where you will be - maybe something to look into

nfl.com has some kind of radio deal where you can listen to every game every week. You have to pay for it though.

Good question Chazz! I work for the government and will be going overseas next year. I hope this is not my last season to get the skins games. Some body out there must have a suggestion

I have used NFL.com. The audio is pretty good. Still being able to get the video feed would be nice.

I live in England at the moment and I will be coming home in September 2005 whooo hooo! I will be coming home just in time to see my boys make it to the playoffs this year and next year the Superbowl :point2sky . Anyway, on Sundays during the season, I go to nfl.com and listen to the games there. It's all audio, but you can see a graphic play by play display as well. It's not as good as seeing it on tv, but being in another country it's the best the nfl.com has to offer. That's how I stay in touch with the team. And I just found this amazing site (EXTREMESKINS.com) a few weeks ago and can't leave it. This is by far the most outstanding site that covers the skins. So, it you stay connected with this site, nfl.com has the audio for games, you will not miss a beat. I just glad to be coming home to see my boys on TV. We are going to knock some heads this season folks!!!

No.

Is the technology there to convert video to a digital format? Sure. It's easy enough to do.

Do you understand the consequences of thousands of people streaming VIDEO from webservers? 3+ hours of video?

Downloading a 1.5 hour movie is about 700+ megs of data. So a football game... is going to be at LEAST 1.5 gigs of data. Now multiply that by the amount of people that would download if possible. And multiply that times the amount of games in the season.

Even if the NFL were to offer it.... it's not going to be free. And it's not going to be cheap.

That's the reason why it isn't already available.

1.5 gigs a game:yikes:....

time to get that 350 G HD !!!..

i'm sure it won't be in the 1.5 gig range... there are compression techniques that can be applied... i watch streams of live worldcup qualifying soccer games using a program called CoolStream.

its kinda similar to Bittorrent, it uses other people's connections in order to provide a buffer free stream... if a lot of ppl are watching that particular game then you get quality similar to watching the game on TV

I believe it is possible for someone to tape a Redskins' game to a CD. Download the CD on their PC in a FTP file. Then allow someone access over the internet to their PC allowing them access to that FTP file. I heard it can be done. Has any one had any experience do this?

If you guys want to talk about this kind of thing, take it to email please, don't discuss it here.

I can't really give you anything more than the live radio options I would use either the geog challenged or NFL.com if you're wanting live action.

Of course Portugelese television may have sports channels that cover American Sports like Sky Sports in the UK or cover the monday night game literally in Tuesday morning as it is in Europe.

The next best thing is Pontel.com. They'll send you the game Thursday or Friday after its happened. Its a straight copy of the american TV broadcast so may indeed be the next best thing for you.
