a little help... Cooley #17?

Umm, why does it look like Chris Cooley has the number 17, rather than 47 in that picture(Cooley's left shoulder)? and why does the heading on the window read james thrash? can someone help me out?

That is James Thrash. I think he wore 17 for a few weeks when he first got back here.
