If we lose tonight, I will start getting the impression that we should start looking towards the lottery draft :(

We should win by 10-15.My prediction is Arenas scores 30+points!!Go Wizards

Big C
December-6th-2005, 04:58 PM
lol. if we lose we are 7-9, it is so freakin early in the season guys. you have to remember that this is a much different team than last year, EJ has even admitted he is still looking for the right combo for this team. anyways, we will win this game by 20 points, since we are a good home team and we are much more skilled than toronto. couple that with a long rest, and it just seems like its a no brainer

wiz up 35-32 at half. wiz shooting very well, but toronto is hitting some three's. gilbert is missing free throws, which sucks cuz he used to be money from the line

61-59 toronto at the half. pretty even game, could go either way right now. we are turning the ball over a lot on travels.

Let's make these freethrows please!

Big C
December-6th-2005, 09:33 PM
wow...another late 3 pointer...now OT. i was also wondering about caron, and chucky atkins hasnt played at all tonight i do not believe. toronto is not the worst team, they have won 2 in a row, but we should have ended this with some damn free throws

Jamison.........Mr. Overpaid.

How many open jumpers did he miss in the 4th quarter?

This loss is on him, if we lose(which I expect since Arenas has 5 fouls because the refs are sucking Chris Bosh's penis tonight).

December-6th-2005, 09:41 PM
whats the score now?

Warhead36
December-6th-2005, 09:45 PM
Up 114-111 with 36 secs left in OT per ESPN.com and NBA.com.

I'm too heated to watch, win or lose tonight's performance was pathetic.

Spaceman Spiff
December-6th-2005, 09:47 PM
YESSSSS i made it home just in time for OT. 117-111 with arenas going to the line and 17 seconds left. I think we got this :)

December-6th-2005, 09:47 PM
Jarvis Hayes saved us in OT

Warhead36
December-6th-2005, 09:48 PM
Well it looks like we won because Gilbert saved our asses in the 4th quarter and Jarvis buried them in OT.

Still, pitiful game.

Antawn Jamison should be ashamed.

Big C
December-6th-2005, 09:49 PM
barely pulled that one out, but a wins a win...its good to see that jarvis came around and played a good game, as well as jeffries. we didnt even use butler haywood much, and we didnt use atkins at all

Big C
December-6th-2005, 09:50 PM
Antawn Jamison should be ashamed.

26 points and 14 rebounds is hardly something to be ashamed about, even if he missed some free throws

Diablo23
December-6th-2005, 09:50 PM
A wins a win, Jamison had a cold streak, but overall I thought he had a good game, he shouldn't be ashamed in my opinon.

Warhead36
December-6th-2005, 09:57 PM
Are his rebounds even that great? Most of them seem to come when a lot of people are around the hoop anyway.

All those boards and points don't account for how bad his defense is, his poor shot selection, his inconsistency from the field, his inability to hit FTs, and just his overall clumsiness on the court.

The win was nice....but it shouldn't have been that close.

Big C
December-6th-2005, 10:03 PM
antawn doesnt lead the team in rebounds by mistake, no one else gets those rebounds. he gets a lot of his rebounds when he quickly grabs a missed shot and puts it up for a layup and gets fouled. that being said, wouldnt it be nice to have chris bosh? a big man who can make his free throws and is deadly in the post

Favorite in the NBA?

Arenas is my favorite pro athlete right now.

Not only is he a great player on the court and clutch as a mother ****er, but he is a legitimate great person.

'Bout time we had a legit star in Washington.

I was there and I must say that it is not in this teams make up to play defense together. Since Eddie Jordan has arrived, we have been playing madator defense and you just cant change that. On several occasions we didnt switch out properly and left Arenas or Daniels on Bosh. Also, every team we have played gets every shot they want. We dont stop teams they only stop themselves. It is inexusable that people dont have any resistance from the wizards when trying to get a shot off. If it wasnt for Arenas this would be a 2 win team.

We better win tonight damn it.

Wizards 99 Raptors 92

Toronto keeps it excruciatingly close until the end.

You predicted the excruciating finish, but when it actually happens you complain about it.

A win is a win. Sometimes I feel like Eddie Jordan has a little too much faith in Gilbert's ability to pull these games out for us. It seemed like we spent a lot of that game experimenting with our lineup - trying to get Blatche some playing time, leaving Jared out there for some extended minutes, and keeping Chucky and Caron out of the game. If we had just played our normal rotation I think we would've won easily ... also if we had made some free throws.

And if Gilbert could spend some time teaching Antawn to be a little more clutch, that might be nice.

Spaceman Spiff
December-7th-2005, 12:54 AM
How'd Blatche look tonight?

Box score has 2 pts and a rebound in 3 mins of playing time.

Really want to see him getting more playing time, I think he can contribute.

He kept mis timing his jumps on rebounds, he would jump a bit early.. but my god can that guy handle the ball, he brought it up a few times, and when they ran plays he was around the perimeter most of the time, he had a jump shot too a few feet inside the 3 pt range, he's gonna be good.

only thing about him is right now he is a SF and not a PF, he seems to float around the 3 point arc a lot. i dont know if we want that or not, but i would like to see him add some low post moves, cuz that is what we really lack

Brendan Haywood is an atrocious defender. Yes, he gets 2 blocks per game, but his footwork is worse than Daniel Day Lewis in My Left Foot. He can't switch, and any player with a semblance of a post-game humiliates Haywood. Also, once again, Haywood was out-rebounded by the opponents' PG. Haywood had 3 boards and Jose Calderon (?!) had 9. That's? Not good.

This team HAS to trade for Brad Miller.

God, basketball fans are worse then football fans by a ton. How annoying can you get. Since when are we in a position to ***** about a win? I still appreciate wins period, regardless of how we get them. Jamison is Mr. Overpaid? Lay off the pipe dude. He's one of 6 in the league averaging 20 and 10. I think he's headed for his 2nd straight all-star game. I was at the game last night and he was missing bad shots but hey he was off. It's happens to everyone including Arenas, who is also my favorite athlete as well. Besides, who else do you want shooting the ball? I think right now, since we are still early in the season, Coach Jordan is just trying out lineups for size and seeing what fits and what doesn't. Give them a break guys. Seriously.

Haywood didn't really play in the second half. They put Booth in (talk about goofy looking) and then Etan and Brendan never came back in. At one point he had 8 points and was the only starter not in double digits. I thought he was having a good game up to that point but who knows why he didn't play more. I'm just a FAN not a COACH.

Haywood got into foul trouble (as a result of his poor defense). That's one reason why he didn't play too much in the 2nd half. Also, and this is pure speculation, I think Eddie was trying to rest certain players for the Indy game, which will be tough because Indy has a top-notch front-court player in Jermain O'Neal.

I agree with all of the posters who think Jamison is NOT overpaid. The guy is getting 20 and 10 every night, and while his defense is nothing to write home about, his impact in the locker room and off the court cannot be understated.

<---------started a thread called "Tawn is playing his hide off again"
overpaid?

And Haywood may be a bit sluggish on the help defense, but he is far from a terrible defender. When you consider the alternatives, and the fact that stiffs like Jerome James, etc are making millions more, I am exstatic that 'wood has hung around. His game is far from aesthetically pleasing, but anyone who averages close to 10, 9 and 3 a game is not an atrocious defender.
