Anyone catch the end of the Cavs-Nets game last night? Cavs rallying back from a big deficit, its late in the 4th, CRUNCH TIME, and what happens? Larry Hughes gets benched.

Hughes made his money in crunch time last year, including a game winning shot against the Bucks and a game clinching shot against the Rockets. You would think he'd play late in the game, especially with that new rich contract he just signed?

Not just last night, but all season long Hughes has looked uncomfortable in Cleveland. His FG%'s are down and his defense hasn't been as good, as the Cavs are last in the league in opponents FG%.

The Cavs may end up trading Hughes back to the Wizards, perhaps maybe for Caron Butler, who for some reason isn't starting even though he should, and maybe Antonio Daniels, who is in a big slump but would be a good fit as a passer to compliment Lebron in Cleveland. Hughes makes $12-$14 Mil, whilas Butler now makes $9 Mil and Daniels makes $5-6 Mil, so the money adds up.

makes absolutely no sense. if we wouldnt give him that contract before, then why would we be willing now, plus giving up 2 more players to keep him. doesnt make any sense

The problem isnt with our guards...its our lack of big men. Haywood hasn't progressed like we thought he would, Etans a waste of space...i wish we had someone like charles oakley in his prime.

ben wallace is a free agent after the season i think

he is, but he's been saying he's gonna get his contract resigned, he said he wants to be a piston for life, and will do what he can to stay there, so i doubt he'll be available

Na, we keep Haywood. He's the best value C in the league. He's making $5 Mil a year. There are backups that are much worse than him and have much less upside that make almost twice that(Jerome James, Adanal Foyle).

Haywood is an effective C. He won't carry us to wins, but he's a guy you can win championships with. Once he gets it down the fact that he needs to stop picking up cheap fouls and stop going for the block and pull down more defensive boards he'll be even better. Plus our team +/- is much higher with him on the court.

Hughes back to the Wiz won't happen....

As far as Caron starting I can see the logic behind him coming off the bench. We have scorers in Gil and Atwan starting.....when they come out you want someone to come in and score....that's where Caron comes in....he is doing well coming off the bench giving us some great numbers.

And someone said that we haven't seen the progress from Haywood? Check his stats for each year he has been in the league.....he has improved every year and is still young.

Not signing Larry Hughes for what the Cavaliers paid him was definitely pennywise but it's looking more and more, pound foolish.

We are taking a huge step back this season.
