View Full Version : It won't be so bad if the Wizards don't make the playoffs this year

The perfect storm of events has occurred to keep the Wizards out of the playoffs. The team that played yesterday is unlikely to beat anyone on the remainder of their schedule. Every team they play is already in the playoffs or in playoff contention. Last night's team can't beat Detroit, Miami, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Chicago or Philadephia, all teams the Wizards play to close out the season.

I say it won't be bad because not making the playoffs doesn't mean they're any worse than they were a week ago, when Caron Butler's thumbs and Antonio Daniels' wrist weren't sprained and Gilbert's back was ok. It just means that a series of events happened that caused the team to not win games they should or, at least, had a chance to win. Not making the playoffs would be even better if they, somehow, beat the odds and win the draft lottery.

Of course, the thing in the Wizards favor, as far as making the playoffs goes, is the 76ers are in freefall and only have to lose 3 more games for the Wizards to clinch a playoff spot, which the way they're playing is pretty likely.

We'll make it. We have 2.5 games up on the Bucks, and they've played more games than us, so lets just say 2 games.

We would have to lose out, and hope that just about everyone else from 6-9 wins out, and that isn't happening.

We could lose out, but the 76ers are so bad they'll probably lose out with the exception of beating us and we'd get in that way.

But I still think we'll manage to hold on and get that 5th seed. We may not be playing well but I don't think anyone else is either.

even if we dont do well in the playoffs this year, the experience our team gains will be crucial in future years. guys like donnel taylor, blatch, etc., even though i doubt they will play much in these games, they will learn a lot and the experience will be extremely beneficial for future years of success

We'll make the playoffs, no doubt in my mind....I think we'll keep the 5th spot too, which would be in our favor too. I'd rather face the Cavs than Nets, Heat, or Pistons
