Okay remember when Ric Carlisle was coaching the Pistons?
He only coached them for 2 years. He won 50 games each year, but couldn't win a championship.
You would think that the Pistons would be ecstatic to have him coaching, but nope, Dumars dumps Carlisle and brings in Larry Brown.
What does Brown do?
Win a championship his first year and take them back to Game 7 his second year.
So whats this have to do with the Wizards?
We need to dump Eddie Jordan and bring in a better HC that can take us to the next level.
I have both supported and been against Jordan. I think he's a decent Coach, but to get to the next level we need someone better.
I don't mean another Assistant on another team. I think we need someone established.

Well last year I was willing to give EJ the benefit of the doubt because we had just made the playoffs and it would have been okay for stability sakes to keep him.

I'm still behind him.

I've tried my best to defend EJ aganist his detractors, but I just can't anymore. We do need a better coach, and we also need EG to make some moves this off-season and bring better balance to this roster. The drop-off in production from Arenas/Butler/Jamison is too steep.

are you kidding me you think Larry Brown made them win the championship team, i guess you think phil jackson is won of the best as well. I hate larry brown, he jumps around the league and people think hes the greatest cause he won the ncaa championship and won the nba because he took over a team that didnt need anything new, carlile got screwed in that. The coach does almost nothing, its the players, name one coach who is winning right now with out any talent. If larry was such a good coach dont you think that the knicks would be doing a little better. If you have players your all of a sudden a great head coach, give me a break.
Its not the coach in the wizards it is its players, we dont have larry hughes anymore, caron is hurt, jamison is a bum, and since we overpaid for etan he has sucked. We need a big man, i say try to get KG, trade who ever except caron and arenas for him.

I disagree. I think Eddie is fine. What we need is more talent. We have exactly 3 guys on the team that can hit a jump shot, and you know who they are. If one of them is out we are screwed. Three scorers and a bunch of role players. Jeffries can't shoot. Daniels can't shoot. Haywood can't shoot. Thomas can't shoot. Blatche can't shoot. Taylor can't shoot. Ruffin can't even think about shooting. Jarvis can't shoot from the pine.
Eddie Jordan is the only reason this team is somewhat decent. With the Princeton offense you get alot of cutting to the basket for layups and such. No other offense would work for this team. We can't pound it down low and no one other than 3 guys can hit a jumper.
We have no depth. Bench scoring does not exist for this team and that ain't the coaches fault. We are still rebuilding and need another year or two to find some decent scorers. Shoulda kept Dixon...

Eddie seems like he's a decent motivator...but we could def. use a better HC, along with an inside presence

One thing comes immediately to mind - Detroit has one of the best teams in terms of talent in the entire NBA. We on the other hand have no front court. I'm not going to sell the only coach in recent memory to give this team any life at all when it's painfully obvious that the team roster has GIANT holes in it.

Eddie Jordan has been here as long as we've had talent here, so it's not like he coached a bunch of scrubs to magical feats. In came Gilbert Arenas and in came the playoff appearances.
We swapped out Hughes-we're still in the playoffs(cross fingers). We could swap out the overrated Antawn Jamison with someone of equal talent and we'd still be in. As long as we have Arenas and adequate talent we can be a great playoff team that loses to the REAL contenders every year.
The only way to overcome that is to get a good coach. You do not need a top calibre inside game to win in the NBA, and I'd say the Wizards are better off trying to win without bigs since we run every big we have out of town anyway. DC does not appreciate inside play and therefore we don't deserve it.
We booed Webber and Howard out, Muresan got hurt and Kwame Brown was never given a chance to develop into anything if he wasn't going to be the franchise savior. So we need to get a coach who doesn't wet himself when the Wizards don't know what to do on the floor.
His name is Rick Carlisle, and in a season or two he'll be burned out enough from the Indiana situation. Or, we can go the Stan Van Gundy route. Both are excellent alternatives to EJ.

i definately wouldn't say that. they have the best chemistry in the league.

 yea...he's definately not the best in-game coach but he has to be doing something good in practice and locker room. :whoknows:

Phil Jackson is the best coach in NBa history, and EJ is not the problem here... Name me the last HC that has gotten the wizards to the playoffs 2 straight years.. The problem we have here is the bench, role players and contracts..
Etan Thomas does not desever to paid 40 million dollars and haywood has not improved since he was brought into the league. i think we have something special in donnell taylor and blatche but the wizards desperatly need a big man next season.. We need to somehow pull off a trade that gets us Jermaine O'neal and he would be perfect in a lineup with jefferies, jamision and areans.. I think caron is a great player but hes would be great trade bait.
I think we need to draft a big man or a sharpshooter in the draft.. I think redick would fall to our pick and he would be a great complement to areans in the backcourt.
