I'm pissed Wisconsin wussed out. I was looking forward to that series as well. Didn't Michigan do the same thing for a Kick-off Classic a few years ago? Big 10 doesn't want any of the Hokies I guess. Had we not laid an egg in the ACCCG, I would've loved a crack at PSU.

VT tried to get Michigan for the 2000 BCA game at Lane Stadium (the thunder and lightning game vs GT which got cancelled) but they refused during that offseason

Wisconsin changed coaches

I like adding Nebraska, although I would also love to get the series back with Texas A&M

2008 is going to be a dooozy of a schedule. At Miami, At FSU, At Nebraska, WOW

And this is after playing AT LSU in 2007 and Miami and FSU in 2007. I guess this year's schedule is just penance for the next 2 fun years

The Nebraska addition is a coup - although Nebraska has been living on reputation now for 10 years.

I was happy to see WVU add Auburn starting in 2008 (then Michigan St in 2010 and Fla State in 2012). All 3 series are home and aways.

I assume the Nebraska series is the same thing for VPI?

Ahh yes, I remember that game well. Wading back through the woods in two feet of rushing water to Houston Street to drown our cancellation sorrows in JD.

I was under the impression Michigan was in the talks for the KoC in the Meadowlands. Not sure where or when I heard that.

Yeah, AM was a fun series, for us. HA! It'd be tough for either of us to fit them into our schedule in the next ten years though.

Yeah, it was the KOC at the Meadowlands. I knew the wolverines were a bunch of pansies.

'M' bows out of Kickoff Classic
By Stephanie Offen

Daily Sports Editor

Reports last month suggested that Michigan would accept an invitation to play in the 2000 Kickoff Classic if a suitable opponent could be found.

But yesterday, the Michigan Athletic Department said an agreement could not be reached with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the Classic, so the Wolverines will not be competing at the Meadowlands on August 26.

In January, Michigan expressed interest in competing in the Classic, but turned down the option of facing last season's national runner-up Virginia Tech, according to a report in the Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J. The newspaper added that another Big East team, Boston College, was approached by the Classic, but declined.

That would have been a fun game

Micheal Vick, Lee Suggs, Andre Davis vs Drew Henson, David Terrell and company in NYC

Wow, that would have been quite a way to start off college
