"The Washington Wizards announced yesterday that the team has added Bill Berry as an assistant coach. Berry, who spent the last two seasons as an advance scout for the Wizards, joins Mike O'Koren , Phil Hubbard , Tom Young and Wes Unseld Jr. on Coach Eddie Jordan 's staff.

Berry has previous assistant coaching experience with the Chicago Bulls (1999-2003), Houston Rockets (1991-99) and Sacramento Kings (1989-91) and was on the bench as an assistant under Rudy Tomjanovich when the Rockets won NBA titles in 1994 and 1995."

This choice is underwhelming.
EJ did it to appease the FO.
He is not a proven defensive coach.
We dont know how he will do.
Yes he was a coach for the Magic led Spartans and the Hakeem led Rockets but those are 2 incredible players that dominated the game of basketball from young ages. If MSU didnt have Magic or the Rockets didnt have Hakeem would they have won based on the defense he instilled in his players? Nope. Did he have any effect on Hakeems development? Nope. Hakeem was very developed when he led that team to the championship twice. Magic never needed much coaching. He was a prodigy. So now we have our defensive coach....yippee...lets hope he proves us all wrong.
