Alot of players are saying that they don't like the new ball.. you think this will cause alot of problems this year? They need to get accustomed to the ball...
They say the ball is slipping out when they go up for layups.. etc..

its been in the papers and on the news. They say the ball is more like those street balls that have no grip once so ever. There is going to be a big increase in turnovers this year.

i heard that when your hands are sweaty the ball slips out really easily. and that none of the players like it so far.

I haven't heard of a single player talk positively about the ball to date. Didn't the NBA get ANY player's opinions before force-feeding them this ball? Why perform such drastic changes anyway? If your going to change such an important part of the game, the changes should be small.

It will definitely have an impact on big guys who aren't so good with the ball in their hands anyway.
Good god with the new ball Haywood could set the turnover record for big men...

I'm pretty sure its the same kind of ball I played with before at the gym, and they 've been using it in the NCAA tournament for 5 years I think.
It isn't anything like the indoor/outdoor balls, but I don't like it as much as the real leather ones either.
Stupid move. The NBA said they wouldn't be against changing it back, though.
It really isn't that much more slick, it just feels like it is getting slick because it is so tacky when dry, and the difference makes you feel like its slippery, at least thats what I felt like. I don't remember dropping the ball a lot or anything.
But why mess with a real thing? Leather is the best.

Now Gil is NEVER gonna give the ball to brenda.
Thats one thing Larry Hughes did really well, he always took it to the rack and then fed haywood for an easy bucket.

Easy bucket + Brendan Haywood?
That doesn't add up.
If Brendan could just catch the ball and dunk it, Gilbert would average 10 assists a night.

Why would you change the ball anyway? does it look cooler or do that want to change the game like the NCAA did with the clock rules in football?

David Stern has used controversies like this to get people talking about his league during the biggest sports months (NHL Starting, MLB Playoffs, NFL).
Last year its the dress code, this year its the new ball.
Man's a genius if you ask me.
