Very interesting trade rumor from ESPN Insider:
Trade Rumor of the Day
"The Nuggets said it would take a knock-your-socks-off offer to trade their No. 3 pick in the draft. They may have gotten one on Wednesday.
Several NBA sources claim that the Kings are willing to part with all-star Peja Stojakovic and super sub Bobby Jackson for the No. 3 pick, Marcus Camby and Ryan Bowen.
The Kings obviously would take Carmelo Anthony with the No. 3 pick. Camby would give them another big man who could spell Vlade Divac and Chris Webber if he ever got healthy.
Why would the Nuggets pull the trigger on the deal?
They would immediately get better with the addition of Stojakovic and Jackson. Remember, they'd still have roughly 18 million worth of cap room to spend on a couple of free agents, and some in the organization feel they need a few more established players to lure the best free agents."

Peja and a very good 6th man for a unproven player, stupid

Sounds like a good idea for both sides...no real drawbacks and it would give Carmelo sometime to develop, Turkolu is almost as good as Peja he just needs time to develop.

It was also just reported that ticket sales are way up because of Anthony, I don't think Denver will screw the fans like that

Sacramento would be stupid to do this. Peja is the best player on that team next to Bibby and Bobby Jackson is the best backup PG in the leauge. If they did this that would surely spell the downfall of them as a powerhouse in the west.

I think its smart. I think Carmello is a better player and WILL continue to be a better player than LeBron anyways.

Turkolu is better than Peja. Peja cannot shoot as well from the perimiter, but he is much better at penetrating, shooting off of the dribble, playing defense, and ball handling.
The problem with the Kings is that, they have been trying to get so deep, just to beat the Lakers, that Turkolu's playing time has suffered, as well as his developement.

It's the Spurs that they had better be gunning for now. Dallas will also continue to improve. Those two teams hold the keys to the future of the west over the next few years. LA is on the decline, but not totally out of the picture yet, but Shaq is just not the player he used to be. Sacramento is the wild card. Divac is as old as the hills and can't put down his Camel Lights and Webber defines the term choke. Their future is in the hands of the likes of Bibby, Peja, Turkalu, etc. In some ways a trade for 'mello would not be bad because it would help them get a little younger. But at the same time, I think they would have to give up a lot to get there. Might be a good move for the future but they could probably kiss contending in the present goodbye.

The best thing the Kings could try, would be to trade Chris Webber for the #2 Pick. Webber could go back to Detroit, and team up with Ben Wallace, and Sacramento could draft Darko. Who knows if the Pistons would bite, but many of us know that CWebb is a choke artist, and is only getting older in addition to the knee surgery.
Larry Brown isn't gonna be in Detroit for long, so do they really have time to let Darko develop and win a championship.

Is the same Peja that won the 3pt contest the past 2 years? Yeah, I guess he isnt a good shooter from the perimeter.
BTW - the local Sac Bee talked about a Hedo and Bibby trade for Jason Kidd (in a sign and trade).
They didnt think it would happen though...

I have to agree with you there. I actually think that trade would work pretty well for both teams. I'm suprised there hasn't been any mention of it. The best thing Sacramento could do is to unlaod Webber and the the youth movement going from that front instead of dumping their legitimate stars like Bibby, Peja or Jackson.

WTF??
Peja is the best player on that team next to Bibby, WHEN WEBBER IS HURT....!?!
Webber only led the team in points, rebounds, assists was second in steals, and tied for second in blocks this season.... wait, last year he led them in points, rebounds, blocks, second in assists (.2 per game) and steals, and the same the year before... and he is the second best player on their team!?!

Webber is all fine and dandy in the regular season. He may even give you a little something in the first round of the playoffs. But bottom line, when the money is on the line he is worth as much as Pee Wee Herman. I'm sorry, but your best player CANNOT be a synonym for choke. That's why in spite of all the statistics I don't consider him to be the best or even second best player on that team.

would you have said the same thing about Duncan if his "clutch" free throw shooting had cost them the series against the Mavs??

No, Duncan already had a ring. Duncan already led his team past the previous champs. Duncan already won the MVP. To try to compare Chris Webber to Tim Duncan is a total and complete joke.

Are you insane, Peja is one of the best shooters in the game. People tend to forget about Gerald Wallace, he is ready to explode. And yes Webber is the kings best player

That simply isn't logical. If he didn't play so well in the regular season, they would've never made the playoffs. That offense runs through him. The reason why Peja can have the freedom to shoot from the perimeter or drive is because Webber draws the double team. Webber is the teams' best player, and every GM in the league would agree on that.
Also, I don't think that trade would be all that bad. Carmello Anthony is going to be an all-star in this league, he'll likely become a better player than Peja.

i'm not sure the kings take melo. i mean they have young talent and depth at that position already. and the fact that bobby jackson goes with the deal, makes me think they have thier eyes on tj ford. which doesn't make sense to me, i think he's overrated, but all the signs point in that direction. peja plays the sg/sf for the kings. currently at those positions the kings have j.jackson, who is coming off his 1st season back to old form. hedo who i think everyone agrees can get the job done, and probably would start on many other teams. gerrald wallace who has been labeled by everyone as a superstar waiting for his chance to play. so why draft melo' and let him get lost in the already crowded shuffle. or push back the progress of hedo and wallace. at pg the kings start bibby, and if they lose jackson, all they have is cleeves, who imho makes tyrone lue look like a gem. they must know they can't sign all thier talent so it would be best to get a great rookie for cheap. all in all i don't think this trade works and the only way i can imagine that sac. does this is if they actually covet tj ford. which still doesn't make sense to me. so i think its just a rumor
