The old gm from Milwaukee is now the wizards gm/president. Just heard it on 980 :)

Interesting if he picks for Milwaukee or Washington tonight, he will have them pass on Kirk so we can get him, hehahhaa

Looks like they got a good one too. As much as we like to poke fun at them, it sure looks like they may finally be headed in the right direction. Winning starts at the top and now they have a playoff-proven GM as well as a playoff-proven coach. Maybe we'll finally see some good stuff happening. Jordan also said that we will be active in free agency. Will be interesting to see who we bring in.

I really like the direction the Wizards are heading in. I love the Blake pick and with hard work Hayes could turn into something special too.

With all but Stackhouse having a starting position secured it's going to be interesting to see who is going to emerge from the camp as starter.

Why did we pick another SG when we have promising players at that same position?

He is going to play the 3. I wonder if this means Jeffries to the 4 and Kwame plays the 5

I doubt the Wizards envision Hayes as a 2 in this league. He's got the athleticism and the size to play the 3, which also happens to be his natural position.

Him and Jeffries together will be a good combo. I happen to think Jeffries will be one of the best players on the team next year and has the potential to be an all star in a few years.

I didn't see any available rebounder when the Wiz picked. Did you? I think a healthy Jared Jefferies, a healthy Ethan Thomas, a healthy Jahidi White and Kwame Brown should get the job done this year. Laettner wasn't horrible last year.

Am I too optimistic?

I think the Wiz have enough young live bodies to keep everyone fresh in a running up tempo system.

Most likely, yet the team does have hope for the future now. They have a GM who knows what he's doing, a coach that can develop this team's young talent, and the right kind of talent to eventually bring Washington a winner.

Now if Abe and Susan can deny the urge to fire someone, the poor Wiz fans can finally be proud of their team.
