Can anyone summarize what the Capitals have aquired in terms of prospects and draft picks?
Additionally what players that will remain have strong upsides?

Yeah, basically nothing. A lot of potential which could turn out to be good, or could just put us farther down the hole. You had the top goal scorer in the league and you traded him away (Lang). You had one of the best overall players in the league (Jagr). And you traded away a guy who has been with the franchise for 12 years (Bondra). And we get what in return? Not enough.

Think Orioles a few years ago. Trade away everyone who is good for prospects that COULD be good. Maybe. Probably not.

Yeah, look what happened to the Orioles. They've been stinking it up ever since.

Ridiculous.
The Caps squandered all the picks they got for Scott Stevens too.
I've never seen a team unload so many players.

The caps have done a great job I think in getting rid of players.....they have stocked up on picks in this up coming draft and have added more players to their Minor league prospects....before all the moves made by the caps they were ranked #2 overall but after these moves they easily move to #1.........they have the best young goaltender in Maxime Oullett and he will be a mainstay of the franchise for years to come.....I hope they trade away Kolzig and Witt....in addition to Grier, Carter, Gonchar, Bondra, Nylander, Jager and Lang........with CBA coming up...the caps have done a very good thing purging all their high salaried players and getting a lot of prospects and draft picks in return....most likely there won't be a season next year and we will be able to have our young players learn by playing in Portland all season .........also when the CBA is completed their will be a lot of veterans available for reasonable prices becasue of the salarie cap the will undoubtadly be implemented....so we can have a core of young players and add veterans of need....
