THe turtles had to make it interesting but a 3 point victory is better than a lost.

That was a close one. Gilchrist has to step it up. When he starts getting comfortable and taking shots, the Terps are a better team.

That was nerve-wracking, but I think this will wake them up for the next game.

Terps missed 12 free throws, four by Gilchrist.

I figured this would be a close one... especially after riding the emotion of the Duke win. Glad they pulled it out.

DAMMIT... I hate the Turds and had them losing to UTEP...Oh well. Hopefully they get beat by either BYU or Syracuse.

As I mentioned in another thread, I felt this would be a tough contest for the Terps because they came from sea level to altitude. UTEP plays in the WAC and plays at altitude a lot more often. It's something you don't usually think about but, believe me, it makes a difference. Why do you think the Broncos were able to mount so many 4th quarter comebacks? It's because the other team was gassed due to the altitude.

When I first moved out here, it took me a few months to get acclimated to the altitude. There's a reason the Olympic Training Center is here in Colorado Springs.

a win is a win. We'll take it and hopefully be better rested and used to the Denver air on Saturday

You guys have no idea. im stationed out in new mexico 45 minutes from El paso. All i have been hearing out of the great bracket gurus from ESPN, and people out here is how UTEP was gonna beat the Terps. Me a lone Terps fan thousands of miles away had to sweat this one out. I am so glad of the outcome and im sure we will get our second wind to get to the sweet sixteen. One last thing though....Medley might have almost lost this game for us but he will get better. Trust me. the kids goin through a funk... and i cant wait to see all the el paso people around here cry the next few days!!!! GO TERPS!!!

Remember when the "INVINCIBLE" Georgetown Hoyas barely won by the skin of their teeth to a Princeton Tigers team that literally backdoored them to death.

Medley was better last year and the beginning of this year than he is now.....I think his game is getting worse. It's scary, because if you take him out you have to put in Strawberry; who I like better, but is to young

I actually did pick that as an upset. Every year atleast 1 #12 seed upsets a #5.

Right now I'm impressed by VCU taking it to Wake Forest in the first half

That was pretty much what I expected out of Md.

Next game will be even closer with 'Cuse.....

Cuse in trouble against BYU they are making 3 pointers and they have that huge center taking advantage of cuse's early foul trouble

I picked 3 #12 seeds. It's like clockwork that one or two of them will win.

As for VCU, I have Wake losing next round so I hope that happens, but I really didn't see that one coming!

The Terps got lucky.

It's just too bad you guys won't get past SU.

Behold Gerry McNamara. 43 points. You can't stop him.
