should be a good game, the last two national champs square off. some things to look for.....cuse generally plays zone on defense and if mcray or gilchrist have a good shooting day we could light them up....cuse also relies on mcnamara and warrick heavily. mcnamara averages 16 points a game, this past game against BYU was a fluke. there is no way he will knock down all those threes. gilchrist can take him on the perimeter and strawberry will also be able to cover him well. warrick is a bit of a problem....no one really matches up to him that well. we could have fofo cover their center forth and jamar play warrick or have ibekwe play a lot of minutes, there is no way caner medley covers him. overall we have the depth and athleticism to weak cuse and i think we will.

Bottom line is, Syracuse has more talent and more experience than the Terps.
McNamara and Warrick are better than anybody you have on your team, including Gilchrist.
I think it will be close, but the 'Cuse will pull it out.

mcnamara is nothing more than a mini- redick, and luol deng or julius hodge are better than warrick. we have handled all those guys and if we are playing well on saturday syracuse will NOT win

McNamara is better than Reddick at this point. He has carried his team to this point and will have another great game on Saturday. Should be a good one.

Mini-Reddick my ass.
Reddick is G-Mac's stooge. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise.
And I can pretty much guarantee that Maryland will not be playing well tomorrow. Their emotion almost ran out against UTEP. No chance they continue to run on fumes like they have the past few weeks.

I love Syracuse...but they did get bounced by BC just a week ago. Even Gerry said on thursday that was the game of his life.
I hate to pick the Cuse to win...but I do.
However, I don't think it matters neither team is making it past the Sweet 16.
I hate Reddick but you aren't going to find many coaches and announcers who think Gerry is better than him.

Syracuse has the better team but Maryland has the best coaching. The young Terps will once again pull an upset today.

I have a feeling that it is going to be a close one and Maryland is good in close games.

maybe we can buck up and buy some calls.

the refs are blowing this game. maybe MD did commit those fouls, but cuse did also! be consistent! we gotta make a run in the second half. stupid mcnamara is shut down so far.

MD needs to learn how to shoot better.
Damn, that was a real bad call. Mcneal raped him.
I wanted the ACC to stay undefeated, doesn't look like its going to be that way though.

two points. If the 1st half wasn't elbows and reachovers, we actually could of won that ****.

Yeah, and if Gilchrist wasnt sitting on the bench with 4 fouls over the most ridiculous foul call I've ever seen.......

oh well, props to SU. They move on. 3 weeks ago if somebody said "The Terps are going to win the ACC tourney and only lose by 2 in the 2nd round to Syracuse"
Nobody here would of believed it.

exactly.
this was a down year for this school. I'll take it. Strawberry and jones showed that they were in it for the win. Reminded me a lot of gilchrist last year. Given what gilchrist showed this year...
not too shabby.

It's nice to see the 'Cuse advancing in the tourney and proving that they were not just about Carmelo a season ago.
To say the least, my heart skipped a few beats down there in the last minute. I especially got worried when G Mac missed one of his free throws down there at the end which gave Maryland the chance to tie with only a two-pointer.
The 'Cuse is fortunate to escape this one after having a 16 point lead.
They are going to have to be especially sharp to beat Alabama who is riding a wave of emotion now after beating Stanford.

They have a lot of potential to be a really good team next year.
This year is not the year they're supposed to push far in the tourney. But the taste they got should give them the desire to work hard over the offseason and be prepared for it next year.
A year of playing together, and basically only losing Jamar Smith will make for a really good year next year.
Garrison should move to the "center" slot which Smith occupied this year and create difficult matchups for everyone up front, as he can really hit a nice shot from 10-18 feet out.
And a year of development for Ibekwe, Fofanna and Bowers (who is learning a lot in practice) will only lead to the team being better in the long run.
Though, they need a guy who can hit a 3 ball with some consistency. I hear they're bringing in a good prospect or two, but someone who's lights out with the deep shot.
And adding a guy for the departure of Andre Collins could help. Strawberry is not a point guard.
That and McCray might take Caner-Medley's spot.

Obviously a dissapointing loss because I feel like Maryland would beat this team more often than not. Free throw shooting again kills us, and of course the atrocious officiating didn't help. Every time a Terp breathed on Warrick he was given a trip to the line (and we all know how ridiculous the foul on Gilchrist was).
Still, as bad as Maryland played, they had a good chance to win at the end. I wish Straw would have dished it back to Jones because I think Jones would have made the shot and won the game.
The last play had to be made by Strawberry though. He and Gilchrist are the money players on this team and Gilchrist was taken off the court by the refs. Straw was the only guy MD had on the court that can handle the ball. Jones was open though, and he's by far the best shooter on the team.
Not too bad for a down year though. Maryland will win another NCAA championship in the next two years. You can take that to the bank. (BTW, you guys realize that if Wilcox would have stayed in school MD would be the two-time defending champs and still alive).

Exactly Ryskins, I'm still heated about why Strawberry didn't kick it out to Jones.
