lets start discussing college football. how do you guys think MD will do this year? We lost a lot of starters but the fridge should be able to replace them with players from our good recruiting classes a couple years ago, new secondary, new QB, and many others. i am not worried about the skill level of our starters. one good thing is that we play FSU later in the year and at home. i believe we play Vtech away so that should be tough. as for the rest of the ACC i think most teams will be competitive except for the sad crappy dook and unc programs, what a waste those 2 teams are.

FSU will still be good, no surprise there. MD will be alright, they might finish better than last year. However, I think UVA will do very well this season. The top five recruiting class from two years ago are now sophomores and should make a real impact on the team. Even though Schaub is gone, the offense will not miss a beat. FSU might have a little competition this year.

UVA is going to be pretty good. i like how the ACC is going to become a power conference with BC, Miami, and Tech joining. those three teams help football immensely and will allow for a conference champ game. the bad thing is that bball might take a hit. BC is a good bball school so no problem there, but its the other 2. the top of ACC bball is so good that 2 bad teams wont hurt that much. for football we just need those terrible carolina teams to pick it up

Bball will take a hit, but the ACC will still be the top conference in the counry.

I also think MD and UVA will be pretty good next year.

The ACC will be a beast football conference.

As for my school VT, I think we can have a pretty decent year next year if we just beat the teams we're supposed to.

We'll almost certainly lose to USC (but I don't think that game matters, its an exhibition game if I'm not mistaken).

Other than that I see Tech losing the away game at Miami.

I am pretty confident of Tech's dominance at home and we will probably **** on UVA and beat MD by a small margin.

I'm also glad we're not playing FSU this year :).

Marylands defense will be good the offense will struggle in the begginning of the year because of the lack of experience at the qb position

The ACC is loaded next year and it should be a great conference to watch. The terps will be ok. QB is an issue, but RB is not. Josh Allen is insane. He has speed, power, and moves. Hes gonna be really special at UMD

i hope jordan steffy catches on quick and we start him from day one. i guess it all depends on what the fridge thinks we can realistically do this year. i know next years recruiting class will be the best ever at MD, the top 2 players in the nation have high interest in MD with the number 2 player citing MD as his faviorite. we should be able to have 2 or 3 5 star players comming in.

No way Steffy starts he can't even enroll until after June spring ball will be over and he will be redshirted.

Duke will be better next year. They improved last year and the new coach they got will win. I remember a few years ago, Maryland football was a joke and then they got Shamu to coach and to his credit he turned the team around. Same thing can happen to Duke, you never know. But anyway, UVA should be good next year. Groh is turning that program around. UVA will be in the top 3 if not the top 2 next year in the ACC.

The ACC's reign as best basketball conference will end after next year. That is when Louisville, Cincy, Marquette and Depaul join the Big East.

All my Big East friends told me this would be the year the ACC bombed out.

Two Final Four teams later... now it's gonna be next year.

Okie-dokie. :40oz:

Don't kid yourself man. The ACC is still the best conference in America, and will be for a very long time, even with the Big East expansion. With the exception of Clemson, every team is very good. I bet if you placed FSU or UVA in any other conference they would be significantly better and would probably be on of the top four teams in that conference, if not better.

I'm with X-Factor on this.

Also, have you pondered how absolutely horrible the Big East will be in Football.

The fact is that Miami and VT were the two teams really selling tickets in the Big East. Next year the big matchup will be between Pittsburgh and WVU? Please.

I think that whoever wins the WVU vs. Pitt game will win the Big East, even BC is gone, who else can compete? I see these teams getting ranked decently because of their domination and then getting spanked in their Bowl Game by UVA or MD or VT.

hmm thought this was about football...... Anyway someone said the offense this year will struggle early due to the lack of experience at the QB spot. But as we all know the Fridge can make anyone a good QB so I will tend to agree with early struggles but I dont see it lasting to long.

Offense is a concern for MD but on D they won't miss a beat. 2 words Wes Jefferson.

this horse has been blugeoned to put it bluntly. the expansion of the acc will only help both football and bball. it all boils down to recruiting...in the ncaa, therein is the the proverbial bottomline.

look at it from the cellar perspective...i'm a kid that plays football in nc. i'm pretty smart and would strongly consider going to duke, but the team isn't very good and my exposure will be limited. i'm now exploring options...say...vandy-who plays in the powerhouse sec. yeah, vandy stinks, but they play bama, gators, dawgs, vols, etc. hey, i'm gonna get some media coverage.
that, fellas, is what you now have in the cc. atheletes will no longer be looking to go to a so called football conference...we hve one. don't kid yourselves...i hate fsu, but they were acc football the past decade...before that, who cares. now look, they have a respectable bball team too. could go on but it's time for another drink :)

FSU looks like they will stay at the top of the ACC but MD has some very highly touted recruits with high interest. The projected number 1 senior in the nation, Eugene Monroe OL, next year has MD as his leader. The top junior this past year, Derrick Williams WR, is also interested. As of now we have about 3-5 potential 5 star players interested in comming to College Park. If we could somehow make the town of CP better I am sure we would get a lot more top recruits.
