This isn't a poll. I hate polls.

I was just thinking about Terps BASKETBALL and wondering if we could consider Dixon the greatest of all time. I mean, he didn't have the greatest talent or size....but he did his the biggest shots (along with Blake) in School History.

What do you think? Dixon? Bias? Smith? Booth? Elmore? Lucas? Buck Williams? Walt Williams? Who am I missing?

Either way, Dixon is my faviorite because of his story.
If you havnt seen the sportscentury with him go to this site and watch it..... www.terrapinclips.com

Jaun, Joe Smith and John Lucas should be the front runners

Are you kidding? Len Bias could have rivaled MJ. Dixon did alot for the terps but had help. Bias would have been an all-star every year. Jay Bilas and Billy King said he was the greatest they ever faced including Jordan.

Len Bias, easily. Bobby Knight said the 2 greatest college players he ever saw were Bias and Jordan.

Lenny Bias...No question....No doubt.

ok, but Bias didn't lead his team to those final 4's and a title. He would of been an awesome NBA player but I wasn't talking NBA. As a 4 year career at Maryland.....who is the best all time?

Bias almost destroyed our athletic program, that diminishes the respect I would have for him

no doubt bias was the better player, he would not be second string on a team like the Wizards for sure, however, Dixon did more for the program. He was the leader of those two final four teams.

Bias for me too. His unfortunate death set the Celtics back six years.

Then Elmore, McMillan and Lucas.

Carefully reading the title of the thread...
Dixon was the best "Terp".
Bias was the best "Player". Obviously.

Basketball is a team game and the ultimate goal is the National Championship.

Dixon's my favorite, but I think Joe Smith and John Lucas are the best ones. It's a shame Francis didn't stay for more than one year though.

I don't think there's any way you can say anyone but Bias.

I dont think it's about being Original i think it's about noticing who is the best..

But I agree with you as Dixon being the best Terp but Bias being the best Player

bias was the best player
dixon had the best career
walt williams was a talented player who's career jump started our program after bias almost killed it.

Bias was the best player the program has ever had.

Dixon is the best winner the program has ever had.

Williams is the best Terrapin the program has ever had...he couldn've left after the sanctions were thrown down, but he stayed and helped Gary turn it around.

The best terps team ever is the 2004-05 Washington Wizards.

I agree with afparent. Though Len Bias was undoubtedly the best basketball player, Juan Dixon was a winner and did much more for the program as a whole. When people think "Maryland Basketball," they first think of Juan Dixon.
