Things to know about expansion teams?

What do we need to know about the expansion draft and do they automatically hav the best chance to get the no. 1 pick.

The Bobcats are locked into the fourth pick of the draft. The Wiz have to leave two players exposed for the expansion draft. It the Bobcats take one of the exposed players the Wiz can then take the other undrafted player back and keep them on their roster.

if we expose laettner, i predict he will prolly be taken by the bobcats. he gives them a good veteran presence...

btw i realized u could potentially draft a really really good team if you draft a bunch of talented but overpaid guys if you are willing to pay the luxury tax.

i think we should protect laettner for trade bait purposes as he is in his last year. he is valuable...

Most of the players you listed are FA's like Whitney and Baxter. They can't be protected/unprotected. The Rules are that a team can only protect a maximum of 8 players. The Wizards will protect:
1) Arenas
2) Kwame
3) Hughes
4) Haywood
5) Hayes
6) Blake
7) Jefferies
8) THomas

That leaves Unprotected:
1) Laettner
2) Dixon
3) Stackhouse

We would be fortunate if the Bobcats took L8 or Dixon. I doubt they take stack.

so if l8ner is drafted, can we not take back stack if we want?

I woulld have to agree with this line up. You have to expose Dixon over Jerreries. I don't the bobcats will grab Dixon but Jefferies is a nice rebounder so he could get taken. They will probably grab L8 who I happen to think is a nice team player bigman who can shoot and pass.

the reason I want to keep Dixon over Jeffries is because there are good Euro SF's that are f'n Huge! and Dixon can shoot bc We will get rid of Stack (hopefully) and we need another scoring threat

Dixon can't shoot. He had the worst 3-point % amongst the guards last season (Arenas, Hughes, Blake). He's too shot happy as evident by his 45 more feild goal attempts than Kwame last year.
