Here is a list of top free agents.

This is assuming that we dump both Laettner and Stack, which gives us over 13 mil in salary cap with the rookie's contract.
We should try to get a starter at two positions, small forward and center.
SF: We have a good young player in jarvis hayes, who can potentially become a great weapon for us. However, he has conditioning problems. Unless he shows weight room dedication this summer, we must go sign a free agent small forward. without conditioning hayes cannot hold up for a whole year at starter. if this comes to be, we have to look for a 4-5 mil a year guy. the possible options i will throw to you are quentin richardson, hedo turkoglu, and gordan giricek.
Q: he has gone from the best 6th man in the league to a good starter this year. he is a shooting guard-small forward tweener, which is not good. however to compensate for his 6-6 frame, he averages 7 rebounds a game and 17 points per game. the 7 rpg makes me really want him. nba.com lists him as a guard but the site i have given calls him a SF. he is an all-around good player who will not be a 4-5 mil a year guy but more of a 7-9 mil a year guy. if he comes here, he will be a good player.
Turkoglu: he is actually a SG but he is 6-10 making him eligible to play small forward. he has great 3 point range. he is a great role player. he rebounds well. i think he could possibly be a good fit here. however, he is a 10 ppg and 5 rpg which is wut jarvis is. i would sign this guy to compete with jarvis. interest in him is not predictable. if he does not receive a whole lot of interest, we should sign this guy for 3-6 mil a year.
Giricek: probably the cheapest out of the three. second round pick last year and played well for orlando last year. when harpring got hurt and giricek got to play, he did well. he will be a good role player. not much of a rebounder. he is 27 so he is at his prime rite now. i would sign this guy to compete with hayes. he should be paid 2-4 mil a year. he is a bargain and he is underrated.
C: Haywood stinks. he averages 7.0 ppg and 5 rpg which means he is nothing more than a backup. we have to upgrade here if we are to make the playoffs. we have to get a hard-nosed rebounder who can score in double digits. we can get okeafor in teh draft, but it is unlikely that we will be able to get him. i have identified 6 potential targets in free agency... dampier, camby, ostertag, mark blount, keon clark and divac. lets spend to upgrade here. offering the young dampier a 8-10 mil per year contract is not a bad idea.
Ostertag: He is not good offensively. However, he is 7-2 and could potentially dominate in the smaller east. he averages 7.5 rpg and a 7 ppg (which is only the 2nd most he has averaged in a season). His strength is blocking where he averages 1.78 blocks a game. He got his career high in assists this year with 1.6 apg which is twice more than he has gotten before in any season. so he is not a great passer. However that is better than haywood. Ostertag is 30. If we somehow get okeafor, this is one of the guys we should target in free agency. Probably should offer him short contract, 3 years, and maybe 2-4 mil per year.
Dampier: This guy is the best out of the bunch. He was healthy this year and had a great season where he averaged 12 rpg and 12 ppg. He could be dominant in the east with his skills. if he signed in the east, he would immediately be a top 3 center. Only problem is that someone on the board said that he will go to team that pays him the most. But a player of his skill will help to open things up for Kwame Brown. This is the guy we should target in FA. We would be competing with many other teams though, such as the Mavs and Suns (who have so much in cap now that marbury is gone). I would offer him 8 to 10 mil a season and sign him to a long term deal, something aroudn what brad miller got last year.
Divac: Vlade is approaching 40 (he lies about his age). He smokes but he still is the best passing center in the game which fits the princeton offense. Divac's skills are clearly eroding and there are rumors that he will leave to play in Europe. Plus there is little chance he would play for the wizards. However we have to make him a pitch. i would offer him a short deal and 4-6 mil a season.
Camby: Camby is the second best center after Dampier. He was a beast for denver last year. He averaged 10 rebounds a game and 2.6 blocks per game also. He averaged 8.6 points a game. When playing in the east he has shown himself to be a good center. What I like is his 1.8 assists a game. He would be a decent fit for eddie j's offense. He does not score much but he is an absolute weapon on defense and could take a lot of the burden off of Kwame. I would offer the 30-year old camby a 4 or 5 year deal with 6-8 mil per year. he may get more in the actual market.
M. Blount: He had a good season last year that went widely unnoticed. He averaged 10 points a game and 7 rpg. these stats are similar to kwame's. He is still young and the celtics will not give him up without a fight. If we get Okeafor, we should get blount to start for a year or two and serve as an insurance policy for okeafor. Blount is a solid role player who is clearly better than haywood. A Brown and Blount frontcourt would not be frightening but rather solid and would not let us down. I want this guy the 2nd most after Dampier because I believe we can get him for a bargain price. If we do not sign okeafor, i would sign blount to a 6-year contract where he would be paid 4-7 mil a year.
K. Clark: He is perhaps going to be the biggest risk at center in the FA market. he is coming off an injury and has been a backup player most of his career. he will not receive much interest but would be a good candidate for many teams to use the 1 mil exception on. We should be in the market for this guy if we get okeafor. Clark could serve as a mentor for okeafor and would be a good backup
