How hard is it to watch the Pistons. Geez, the Wizards have had enough talent go through her to be a dominant east team.
Who's to blame?

Wizards have been trading young for old for years. They have no patience and are always in win now mode...obviously that's not working for them.
Rip was ready to step up and take the team over from MJ and it boggled my mind when we let him go.
The responsibility must go to the owner and trickle down from there.

Rip is on the perfect team to fit his talents. His total lack of defense is hidden by the superb defense of the Wallace's and Prince. He's just as bad a defender now as he was with us. Reggie Miller is too old to put up numbers. Jack Ramsey is an idiot for suggesting he's the 2nd best shooting guard in the league behind Kobe. Rip's one dimensional: a scorer. He's a terrible 3-point shooter, rebounder, and defender. He's a great scorer, but Detroit wins with Defense, not Hamilton.

Still think he's a hell of a player and we got shafted with stackhouse.

Who's not to blame? Abe Polin? Bob Ferry? John Nash? MJ? The list goes on and on...

The problem with their trading young for old was that the young they traded were all potential superstars (B Wallace, Rip, Webber, R Wallace). We definitely saw this in all of them while they were here, but they were raw. Our current young crop is raw as well, but lacking that superstar potential (minus Kwame and Gilbert), not to mention that 3 of the ones we lost are big men.

Rip is the same player he was with the Wiz, just on a very good team. His lack of defense is covered by the overall great defense of the whole team. People are acting like he just started playing like this, when we've seen him at that level for years. Unfortunately, the rest of the world didn't because the Wizards were rarely on the national level.
The Stackhouse trade was bad, and I said so the moment it happened. Rip was the perfect compliment for Jordan. He didn't need the ball in his hands all the time the way Jordan did, he was content on running around picks and screens and running his defender ragged. Stackhouse is in the same mold as MJ, just less effective. They both wanted the ball alot, and I'm surprised Michael thought differently by playing in a couple of pick up games with him during the off-season.
Regardless, I've only seen slight improvement in his game since being a Wizard. He's slightly better beyond the arc, that's it. I could name numerous SGs in the league that are better. One of them is on our team as discuss this (i.e. Hughes).
