Who do you think the Wizards will draft with the fifth pick? I believe they will pick Luol Deng.

Andre Iguodala will never be a star player unless he works on his jumpshot more. At this point he seems like a slightly more offensive version of Bruce Bowan.

I'm telling you guys, Deng probably won't be there for us, Bulls will be dumb to pass him at 3, if Bobcats don't take him at 4 they are dumb.

nothing wrong with childress....i think he can come in and contribute RIGHT away at small foward or shooting guard.

Am I the only one unenthusiastic about any of the prospects?

Heck, a large part of me wishes we could just move down and make the trade with Orlando for the #1 we owe them. I know giving up a number 5 is higher than we have to, but I'm just not that excited about anybody available vs. tallent already on the team.

I just keep cringing knowing we have to pay that #1 sometime in the future. With such a young team now, I'd just assume spend the year developing what we've got.

I think that Andre I. would be a good pick but his jumper is way to inconsistent(yeah they say he's been nailing them in workouts but that is just hearsay). Shaun Livingston would be a good fit and it would allow Arenas to move back to shooting guard, his natural posistion. I am also not completely sold on Deng for the simple fact that his athletic ability is not up to par with the other SF's in the draft and the last thing we need 6'9 Chris Carawell. Childress has a very good game but he measured out at 6'5" and that is not very tall for a SF and I dont see much in him that I don't already see developing in Jarvis Hayes.

I like Iguodola, he reminds me of Richard Jefferson but a few inches shorter. When Jefferson came out, his jump shot was questionable, but had incredible athleticism, and now he is a borderline All-Star. He would be hard to pass on if he's at #5, especially since he is a good passer as well as having freakish athleticism. Livingston wouldn't be a bad pick up either, he would be a perfect complement to Arenas, allowing him to move to SG and defend the opposing PG due to his height deficiency. I also wouldn't mind Biedrins, the Euro 7 footer. He sounds like the defensive version of the Nowitzki's, Gasol's, and Darko's that are coming into the league now from Europe, and he should be able to develop a solid offensive game. I think Deng or Childress would be a bad move to take over one of these guys because I feel like they would be giving up on our last 2 #1 picks so soon (but that is what the Wiz are so good at), and I'd much rather have Iggy if they plan on using Childress at SG.

Yeah, Except Bruce Bowen is an amazing 3pt Shooter and Andre shoots like 20%

Bowen may be better at 3 pointers, but Andre is better at getting inside and scoring, getting more points than Bowen. The numbers would be closer in the NBA point-wise, so there is not much difference between them.

Who are you to say there is not much diffrence? You seen Andre play in the nba?

By the way, Childress is looking a lot more likely now.

I think Livingston might be eliminated from consideration. The top 2 picks are obvious, and the Clips are pretty much set to take Gordon or Livingston at #4. The Bulls will take either Deng or Iguodola, or trade to someone who wants Deng, Iguodola, Gordon, or Livingston. I think we're going to take whichever of the two isn't taken by the Bulls or Deng if Gordon and Livingston go 3-4 (I think it was FoxSports.com who said we've guaranteed Deng we'd take him if he is at #5).

I think our plan is to take Deng and move Hayes to SG after this season when they let Hughes go. Or play Iguodola and Hayes on the wings in '05 if we take him. Neither of the 2 will be much of a factor this year as our starting backcourt is set (or should be) with Arenas-Hughes-Hayes. Hopefully we can trade Stack for a forward or a couple of solid backups because he will be a distraction when he doesn't start over Hughes and Hayes, as every Wiz fan has been alluding to for awhile now.

And it sounds like Etan will be given a big raise by the Celtics, and while I don't want to see him go, if he gets more than the mid-level, we shouldn't match. We could use the extra $3M we'd save on a PF/C who can push Haywood from the starting lineup.

A Arenas-Hughes-Hayes-Kwame-Blount starting 5 with Blake-Iguodola/Deng-Stack(or hopefully someone else from a trade)-Jefferies-Haywood in the rotation should be a solid team if they stay healthy.
