Two things.

First off, the draft. The Bobcats traded their #4 overall pick and a 2nd rounder to the Clippers for the #2 overall pick (The Bobcats also promised to take Drobjnak in the expansion draft, clearing up cap space for the Clippers).

Apparently this means that Okafor and Howard go 1/2, and the Clippers at #4 will now be targeting Shaun Livingston. That kind of sucks, since I'm a big Livingston fan. We'd have to move up to #3 in order to snag him now.

Second of all, McGrady is apparently going to the Rockets after the expansion draft. Francis, Mobley, and Cato for T-mac, Juwanji, DeClerq, and Lue.

Honestly, things don't look to well for the Wizards IMO. Frankly, I don't think Jordan can get the job done and have the players perform like some of the other and newer coaches entering the Eastern Conference. Furthermore, I don't think Kwame Brown is a cornerstone player to build around. So in that case, we really don't have any franchise players to build around, IMO.

Also, Francis,Mobley and Cato entering the East is also bad for the Wizards, IMO. maybe things will take a turn for the better for this Organization. Buty unitl we land a bonified franchise player like Mcgrady or someone. I think this franchise has a long way to go. Furthermore, with the lack of franchise players coming outta colleges now days. The Wizards high draft picks are basically basic players. We can't seem to land that game changing player no matter how many high draft picks they have. It really sucks, and no one really wants to come here that's really a franchise player.

Any thoughts?

fatty p,

i do not noe what espn has been smoking but the clips have indicated for weeks that they want livingston. if they wanted ben, they would have traded down to the hawks where they could have probably still picked him up. the wiz would not have taken him, because the wiz are the only team in the top ten that hasnt worked out gordon

The Clips don't want a HS'er so they will not draft Livingston. They will take Gordon since he is older.

The trade was McGrady, Juan for Francis, Mobley, and 2 other players. The Rockets are not getting more then the Magic. I think Houston is dumb for dropping Francis and Mobley.

Err... you do realize that the actual number of players traded on each side is irrelevant, don't you? Those other players are just filler to make the cap figures match up.

And there goes Shaun Livingtson to the clips. Now Ernie will have to be forced to take a player that is not worth the 5 pick at number 5(either Childress or Igoudala). AHHHHHHHH!!! We can never catch a break.

I saw Francis last night at the club, and he didnt look to happy. If you really look at it, the Rockets are giving up too much for Mcgrady. I dont blame Stevie for not wanting to play for the Magic after coming off a playoff season......

Trading Francis is kind of scarey but is style of play does not fit Houstons offense!!

your right, just read the new report this morning, was going off what I heard last night

however the issue with this trade is 3 of the players might be selected in the expansion draft tonight, if that happens the deal is off

Houston getting McGrady is an absolute steal. The guy has unbelievable skills and he and Yao will now potentially form the new Shaq-Kobe combo out west. It is true that Francis doesn't want to go to Orlando, but he has no veto clause in his contract so he doesn't have much say. He should cheer up though, because he and Mobley form a great backcourt, with Okafor at center, and Drew Gooden at PF, not to mention if Grant Hill ever stays healthy.

Here is the take from ralph lawler, "the voice of the Clippers":

#4) CLIPPERS

Devin Harris
Guard | 6-3 | Wisconsin

He's a pure point guard, a littler taller than Ben Gordon and more experienced than Shaun Livingston. He can step in and play right now, but Gordon and Livingston will be in the mix right up until Draft Day. Whatever---at #4 the Clippers should have their pick of the point guard litter. A little Lottery luck and an excellent trade has the Clippers in a perfect situation to fill a need.

#5) WASHINGTON

Andre Iguodala
Guard | 6-6 | Arizona

Has been moving up the charts. He's a young Scottie Pippen type who can play several positions and flat-out defend.

#6) ATLANTA

Shaun Livingston
Guard | 6-7 | Peoria Central (IL) H.S.

Eighteen year old point guard has star potential. He draws comparisons to a youthful Penny Hardaway. He's gained 20 pounds already, but still needs to add strength. Disapointed in not being able to land Dwight Howard, the Hawks will go after what they consider the "next best thing."

#7) PHOENIX

Ben Gordon
Guard | 6-2 | Connecticut

This young man will give the Suns still another scorer. He'll go through a bit of a learning curve in becoming an NBA point guard, but he's a proven winner and a nice fit for the Suns.
